Kirby Building Systems has won several new contracts across the GCC, including two prestigious orders in Bahrain, for a shopping mall and an industrial park.
“Recently, Kirby has won several steel building projects in the GCC,” says a company spokesman.
He continues: “Kirby Bahrain bagged one of the biggest and prestigious mall projects, being developed by Enma House in Riffa, Bahrain, and designed by renowned local architect Arif Sadiq Consultants. The mall has a contemporary modern theme, whilst its exterior will uniquely reflect modern living in Bahrain. The mall, with an area of 54,000 sq m, will include showrooms, cafeterias and a hypermarket.”
The mall has special architectural features which are boat shaped, with a curved roof supporting a tensioned membrane structure.
The building will also have special curved fascia clad with aluminium decorative panels. The curved members will be supplied from Kirby’s new curved beam facility at Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.
Kirby has also won an order from Kuwait Finance House (KFH) for its industrial oasis project at the Bahrain Industrial Investment Park (BIIP). The KFH order consists of 24 light industrial workshops with a combined area of 50,000 sq m, says the spokesman.
