Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) has announced that it has received bids from two developer consortiums for its Ras Mohaisen Independent Water Plant (IWP) located 300 km south of Makkah, on the coast of the Red Sea in the Western Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
 
According to SWPC, these consortiums will be led by Spanish infrastructure major Acciona and global utility project developer Acwa Power along with key Saudi partners - Haji Abdullah Alireza & Partners Company and AlKifah Holding.
 
On completion, Ras Mohaisen IWP will produce 300,000 cu m/day of potable water. It will also feature storage tanks with a capacity of 600,000 cubic meters (equivalent to two operating days) and an electrical substation.
 
The commercial operation date of the project is likely to be Q2 2028.-TradeArabia News Service
