Kohler tailors vanities to personality

IN RESPONSE to the demand in the Middle East, Kohler, a global leader in kitchen and bath design and technology, has launched its tailored vanity collection that allows customers to personalise their entire grooming space.

The collection offers five vanity design styles with customisable options including drawer/door configurations, hardware, organisational accessories, colour and finish, as well as countertops and sinks.

The launch is an important step for Kohler as it expands its scope of business in the Middle East, according Jerome Michel, managing director, Europe, Middle East and Africa Region of Kohler Brand. “Not only can we provide customers with a customised grooming space, we have streamlined the bathroom design experience for each area of the bathroom, from showering, faucets and toilets to vanities, tops and accessories. Simple luxuries like electric outlets that are integrated into the vanity make a huge difference,” adds Michel.

“When consumers design their vanity space, they think about it in exactly that way: as a space. It’s not an individual sink or drawer or mirror, it’s a space where they start and end their day. This space serves a functional as well as an emotional need for homeowners,” comments Mohammed Nada, regional marketing manager of Kohler Brand.

The five styles of vanities included in the collection – Poplin, Damask, Jacquard, Jute, and Marabou – offer a range of aesthetics to blend seamlessly in any bathroom environment from traditional to eclectic to contemporary.

The Animal Chair Collection goes miniature

SPANISH artist Maximo Riera has come up with a new miniature series of The Animal Chair Collection. These models are produced entirely in nylon using a type of 3D printing known as the SLS (selective laser sintering) process to achieve the best possible quality, resistant and lightest weight.

The miniature chairs are based on the original and popular designs from Riera, where animals and furniture are combined to create unconventional and peculiar compositions.

“I am always trying new techniques and materials. From the brainstorming, I intend to create something new and different. Art always has to break boundaries and being an artist today means that one has to take risks in order to create something new/different – innovative. This is the key to make art evolving,” says Riera.

Riera has been a practising artist for over 30 years, predominantly working in photography, painting and sculpture.

V&B takes bidet back to nature

CERAMICS major Villeroy & Boch (V&B) has redefined bathroom culture with the launch of its ViClean, a new electronic bidet seat series.

The new range combines both functionality and design to create an electronic bidet seat inspired by nature that recreates the contours of a leaf. Its contemporary style brings a harmonious flair to any bathroom, whilst also providing an intuitive usability that can be easily integrated into any individual bathroom culture.

With design functions for personal cleansing, drying and heating the seat, the ViClean-L bidet seat intelligently adjusts both water pressure and temperature for individual requirements.

All functions can be conveniently controlled remotely and are easily adjustable, including the remote-controlled soft-closing technique seat and lid, to ensure convenient and silent opening and closing.

Technical aspects such as electricity and water connections are hidden out of sight for aesthetic demands. ViClean-L matches with the products of the Villeroy & Boch ceramic collections Subway and Omnia Architectura.
