Verus ... wellness focus.

Verus has your back

Herman Miller, a globally recognised leader in design who believes that great ergonomic support should be attainable for all – has introduced Verus, a chair that strengthens wellness through engineered design that’s affordable.

“Built-in sacral support reinforcement and adjustable lumbar support are the starting blocks that strengthen well-being,” says a spokesman for the company. “These ergonomic principles don’t stop with the lower back support.  Both the suspension and TriFlex back options have varying zones of tension to support the entire back where and how it’s needed.  Everything from the contoured seat to the tilt of Verus are made to work seamlessly together and provide ergonomic support for the person sitting in the chair.”

With a versatile form that comes in a range of colours and fabrics and the option for a suspension, upholstered or TriFlex back, the Verus family flexes easily to any aesthetic.  The chair can be upholstered in a broad range of material options – in vibrant colours, sophisticated neutrals, and statement patterns – that span varying price points. Verus not only performs as a task chair, it spans the floorplate with options for a stool, side chair, and the Plus Chair.

“No matter where the support is needed, Verus is a universal solution and creates an aesthetic cohesion across the floorplate.  In situations where additional durability and more rigorous cleaning protocols are in place, the TriFlex back elevates Verus to the challenge. No matter which variation of Verus is the right one, it is backed by the Herman Miller research and 12-year warranty,” the spokesman concludes.

Armstrong caters to the ‘new normal’ environment

Armstrong World Industries (AWI), a US leader in ceiling, wall and suspension system solutions, is offering its Health Zone ceiling systems and Clean Room Grid systems to all building owners who want to ensure a safer and hygienic indoor environment.

Armstrong Health Zone ceilings with BioBlock Plus performance are claimed to resist the growth of bacteria, mould, mildew and odour on the ceiling tile surface. These ceilings are also water repellent, washable, sustainable, recyclable and safe for use with recommended disinfectants.

These ceiling panels can be paired with gasketed clean room suspension (grid) systems in areas where air pressure is used to redirect contaminated air away from occupants.

Apart from the ceiling, Armstrong is also introducing a new line of vertical panels that provide a design-oriented approach to creating greater separation between people. Infusions Resilient Partitions, its nonporous and easily cleanable translucent wall partitions, can transform existing shared spaces into protected and segmented zones, the company says.

Sherwin-Williams launches durable soft flooring system

Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine has introduced its SofTop comfort flooring systems in the Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI) market.

In a sustainable expansion of the US group’s resin flooring portfolio, the new product combines the benefits of durability with environment-friendly features and softness.

SofTop Comfort provides an aesthetically appealing, seamless, hard-wearing flooring finish that is soft, comfortable to walk on and noise-absorbing thanks to the formulation of its two-component polyurethane resin-based technology, says Sherwin-Williams.

Designed for diverse applications with three different systems – from single application SofTop SL to SofTop Comfort SL where tough performance is required, the flooring offers solvent-free medium viscosity, and is applied as two self-levelling layers with an initial membrane followed by a self-smoothing floor screed.  Application is by trowel and spike roller, and slip-resistant finishes can be achieved by adding aggregates, it states.

Jeremy Waterhouse, Flooring Product Manager, says: “Due to natural plant oils used in its formulation, our system is environment-friendly and can be installed as an attractive long-term solution to become part of a building finish. With exceptional hygienic and chemical resistance benefits, SofTop is an ideal system for sectors including hospitals, schools, workshops, playgrounds, offices and exhibition areas.”
