Ideal Standard introduces Conca basins
Ideal Standard, a leading manufacturer of bathroom solutions, has introduced Conca basins, a part of the Conca collection that has been designed in partnership with renowned Italian designer Ludovica and Roberto Palomba.
The Conca collection takes its inspiration from the vintage 1970 collection of Ideal Standard, combining the classic, old-world elegance with the genius of modern manufacturing. The series originally designed for Ideal Standard by master designer Paolo Tilche in 1972, had a profound impact on the culture of design, says the company.
In their contemporary design interpretation, Ludovica and Roberto Palomba kept the geometries and sensual details of the original design, but brought Ideal Standard’s advanced manufacturing technologies into play that enabled a new level of purity in the design, unthinkable in the 1970s, according to Frederick Trzcinski, Marketing and Innovation Director – Mena at Ideal Standard Gulf.
Commenting on the new collection, he says: “The Conca range is a celebration of our legacy; it is a brilliant interpretation of a past design icon. It signifies our commitment to aesthetics and world-class manufacturing techniques.”
“Our collaboration with Palomba Serafini Associati design studio fits perfectly with our intrinsic values of design and has brought out one of our sleekest collections,” he adds.
rightSheet to provide anti-bacterial shield
Global manufacturing company Just Right, which delivers manufacturing solutions across business verticals, has rolled out an anti-bacterial barrier for use across public spaces.
This ‘’Made in UAE’’ solution, in the form of acrylic sheets and named rightSheet AM, is a unique compound formulated to make the non-porous surface serve as a protective shield, preventing infections from spreading.
Headquartered in Jafza, Dubai, Just Right has launched these green sheets just as public and private entities look for protective measures to curtail the spread of the coronavirus.
The product has been conceptualised and introduced as self-standing and easy to erect on countertops, in addition to being customisable to suit specific applications.
Just Right founder Nilesh Jain says: “Given the current global health emergency, both local and global authorities are doing their best to control the situation. We decided to act quickly to introduce a solution to suit the present requirements. With a sizeable number of communities where people are vulnerable and could be exposed to infections, the installation of these acrylic shields could play a key role in preventing the virus from spreading.”
“It is a certified green product and can be conveniently installed across various locations, including medical centre, hospitals, pharmacies, offices, supermarkets, banks and any other location where there is a need to interact closer than the stated social distancing guidelines,” he explains.
Direct lighting for the home office
Danish lighting brand Louis Poulsen says its new AJ Mini Lamp desk lights are a perfect fit for those looking to work from home in style.
The iconic AJ Mini Table Lamp was originally designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1957 for Copenhagen’s SAS Royal Hotel. Louis Poulsen is now reintroducing the original AJ Table Mini and the AJ Royal to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the opening of the SAS Royal Hotel (Radisson Collection). Furthermore, all versions of the AJ Lamp are being re-launched in stainless steel, which reflects their surroundings in the spirit of Arne Jacobsen and emphasises the minimalist and distinctive shape design, as well as impeccable illumination. In addition, three new special edition colours are available in 2020: Original Grey, Pale Rose and Ultra Blue.
In addition, two geometric shapes allow the shade to direct light exactly where needed, making the AJ the perfect task or reading light. Also, the AJ Table Mini will be available in the original version in stainless steel, and in all existing colours, and looks particularly good at home on a windowsill, on a bedside table or in combination with other occasional furniture, the company says.
