Aviation-inspired

Campbell Gray Living, an award-winning mixed-use development located in the heart of Jordan’s capital Amman, has launched its first restaurant – hangar1, with interiors that draw on the aesthetics of aviation and air travel.

Combining a bold, nostalgic ambience with its menu of delicious and comforting classics of steaks, chicken, burgers and fries, hangar1 offers something unique that is designed to awaken the child in all of us.

Containing many elements styled after or actually made from old airplanes, this culinary experience is meant to take customers back to their youth and re-embrace the wonders of a child-like imagination once again.

“Campbell Gray Living Amman is a project with a vision, which has been realised at every level of our development – from the architecture to the residences themselves. hangar1 is part of this vision and  thanks to its unique theme and aesthetic, I am certain it will really stand out in Amman’s restaurant scene,” Saad Audeh, chairman of Campbell Gray Hotels and founding member of the Audeh Group, tells Abdulaziz Khattak of Gulf Construction magazine.

hangar1 fuses the nostalgia of a ‘50s American diner with the materials, appearance and aesthetic of air travel. The restaurant offers indoor seating across both of its levels, as well as outdoor seating for fair-weather dining. Both levels of the establishment are adorned with furniture and fittings made up of the same brushed steel and rivets that embodied early aviation, whilst lighting is provided by authentic steel hangar lights and lamps made from jet engines.

“hangar1 lives up to its name by infusing every element of the restaurant with parts and materials that capture the true essence of vintage aircraft,” he says.

Located within The Valley, Campbell Gray Living Amman’s boutique retail space, hangar1 offers a comfortable and retro-styled ambiance  that is ideal for spending time with family and friends. The walls are adorned with original works by the acclaimed street artist Ernest Zacharevic, whose subversive public work led to him being dubbed ‘the Banksy of Malaysia’.

Campbell Gray Living Amman is becoming an iconic centrepiece of the city’s skyline and bringing considerable style and value to the up-and-coming Abdali district.

The project – developed by Al Seraje Real Estate, a subsidiary of Audeh Group – features a diverse array of private residences and serviced apartments, office spaces, high-end lifestyle and retail facilities soon to be joined by the highly-anticipated Campbell Gray Hotel. Whilst the hotel is set to launch in 2021, the project’s residential, commercial and retail services are already available for purchase and use.
