Sylvania, a leading global light specialist which offers innovative smart lighting solutions, says its products can reduce energy use by more than 30 per cent.
The company was the Gold Sponsor at this year’s RetrofitTech Summit and Awards that was held at the Roda Al Bustan Hotel in Dubai, UAE, in April.
Sylvania used the platform to showcase its innovative lighting solutions that offer seamless user experiences, and leverage smarter lighting controls and big data. Among such systems is Sylvania’s SylSmart platform, which constitutes a suite of smart lighting, connected building, and smart city solutions.
“SylSmart incorporates the latest technology with luminaires to give users unparalleled control over their environment. The solutions not only offer control and light, it also provides energy efficiency,” says Ayhan Siriner, general manager for Sylvania Middle East and Turkey.
By using remote monitoring, daylight harvesting, scheduling, energy, and status reporting, SylSmart will reduce energy costs, making users compliant with legislation and certifications such as Breeam, ECA, Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), DGNB, and Estidama, he says.
Siriner continues: “Using Sylvania’s SylSmart luminaires helps you enjoy a commission-free, wireless and intuitive lighting control solution at 30 per cent less cost than Dali (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface), offering 34 per cent more energy savings.”
He says SylSmart solutions go beyond lighting and enable users to join the Internet of Things (IoT). “With a bunch of sensors connected with wireless communication and machine learning, the solutions will give you the opportunity to extract data from the luminaires. The data collected works in figuring out the building’s operations, giving users an insight into the actual usage of their building,” Siriner adds.
Sylvania’s solutions are applicable for a variety of functions including offices, education, government, logistics, museums, galleries, retail, hospitality and residential.
Sylvania has a global presence with business operations in Europe, Latin America, Asia, Middle East and Africa. It is owned by Shanghai Felio Acoustics, a manufacturer and distribution of lighting equipment.
