Hempel Paints, a global leader in protective coatings for the industrial, architectural and marine sectors, has rolled out a new range that focuses on enhancing aesthetics while protecting the environment.
Topaz Emulsions, dubbed as ‘The Gem of Paints’, is a high-performance product range that can be used to enhance the aesthetics of every home. Used for both internal and external applications, the choice range of products comprises emulsions, enamels, glosses, textures, primers and putty fillers.
Being waterborne, Topaz is environment friendly and comes in a wide variety of finishes, textures and colours for use on both interior and exterior surfaces. It can be applied to many different substrates including concrete, wood, plaster, gypsum board and steel.
Commenting on the launch of the range of coatings, Khaled Al Sayed, regional product manager at Hempel Paints, says: “At Hempel, we are concerned about the environment and our planet Earth. ‘Going green’ isn’t just a catch phrase anymore; it has expanded into every area of our lives. Hempel makes every effort to do its part in giving back to our Earth and offers many eco-friendly solutions for all painting projects.”
He says Hempel accords top priority to the environment and therefore introduces environment-friendly painting solutions that will make users feel “a lot better about using paints. You now not only can have a beautiful newly painted project, but you can have it without the strong odours and harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs)”.
“Hempel products are not just made, they are derived from experience and environmental awareness, with a foresight to a green future,” he adds.
Topaz emulsion paints have been manufactured to ensure low odour and low VOCs, ensuring the wellbeing of all.
The range provides virtually endless possibilities in design, choice and application, and gives greater creative freedom, Al Sayed. “It offers thousands of shades that can be customised and tinted as per individual choice. All sheen levels are available along with a wide variety of textures,” he adds.
Moreover, Hempel has also launched Topaz Zero and Topaz Zero with silver ions (in matt, silk, and semi-gloss). These are 100 per cent acrylic coatings with antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, in addition to being zero-VOC products.
“They have been tested and passed the most aggressive dual test (seven years of accelerated weathering test and anti-bacterial and anti-mould test), making these two products the most suitable for hospitals, surgery rooms, kindergartens and hotels, among other sensitive applications,”
says Al Sayed.
Hempel has further demonstrated its ‘green’ philosophy with the launch of its Jeddah plant, the largest 100-per-cent water-based decorative paints factory in the Middle East, he concludes.
