TOWERLIGHT, a leading manufacturer of industrial lighting equipment and contractor’s pumps, has recently met two orders for lighting products in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.
The Italy-based company has delivered trailer-mounted hydraulic lighting sets to Dubai and lorry-mounted hydraulic lighting sets to Libya.
Working in close co-operation with its Middle East partner Sigma EPD, TowerLight shipped six specially-designed hydraulic lighting units to Al Laith in Dubai, for lighting concerts, outside events and car-parks.
“This new unit has been designed around our standard VT-1 lighting set. We combined two 9 m hydraulically-operated lighting masts into one unit, providing twice the light output from one standard base. These new sets were named the DB9,” says Ray Caulfield, international sales manager for TowerLight.
Al Laith, a UAE-based specialist rental company, has already built up a large fleet of TowerLight’s VT-1 and the new DB9 lights are set to expand its lighting range still further.
The VT-1 is popular with event organisers in the Middle East, mainly because of its combination of quick and simple erection with a super-quiet operation. The VT-1’s superior metal halide lamps deliver a clear blanket of light to ensure the safety and well-being of an audience as they move around the concert arena.
Latest Kubota diesel engines power the DB9 and the light is provided from two 9-m hydraulic masts fitted with four 2,000 W metal halide lamps each.
The complete unit is housed within a super-silenced canopy and mounted onto a four-wheeled tow trailer. Four extendable stabilisers ensure that when in operation, the DB9 is firmly placed on the ground.
“We are working very hard to satisfy individual customer requirements and this order is a testimony to the ingenuity of the TowerLight design team. We are keen to discuss any bespoke lighting requirements from companies around the world,” says Caulfield.
Meanwhile, the Libyan order consists of 20 truck-mounted metal halide lighting sets, designed to provide a powerful light source and power generation capacity for a series of outside events and public meetings scheduled to be held throughout the country.
The specifications of the specially-designed products include a 21 m hydraulically-operated lighting mast, six 2,000 W metal halide lamps and a 100 kVA integrated generator. The complete unit has been mounted onto the latest Iveco Trakker, 32-tonne, eight-wheeled flatbed trucks.
“These lighting sets were designed in close liaison between Libyan government officials and TowerLight engineers, to bring together a specially-designed lighting unit to satisfy the very stringent criteria set out by the client,” says Paul Hay, international sales manager at TowerLight.
“These units are probably the most powerful units we have designed and built to date. They have been constructed to provide reliable ‘stadium quality’ lighting in a variety of differing environments and temperatures.”
He continues: “In this uncertain economic climate, we have been concentrating a large part of our marketing efforts overseas and we are delighted to have secured these very important orders. We are currently putting the finishing touches to number of other orders from clients in the Middle East and we expect to be able to make similar announcements in the very near future.”
TowerLight, based in Villanova d’Ardenghi, near Milan, manufactures a range of lighting towers and recently expanded into the production of contractor’s pumps. The company distributes its products worldwide through dealers or distributors in many countries.
