Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort systems and comprehensive facility solutions, has called for the use of energy-efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems not only in new projects but also in older properties.
“Thousands of old, inefficient systems – estimated to consume up to 40 per cent more power than newer, more efficient ones – are still working in the region, thus aggravating the situation,” emphasises Talal Hasan, regional leader for Trane in the Gulf.
This should not be allowed to continue as efficient use of energy in buildings is now becoming essential due to boom in the market and the rapidly growing population which is making unprecedented demands on power supply in the Gulf, he says.
“Heating, ventilation and air conditioning is estimated to consume up to 65 percent of the power in any building which is why energy efficient equipment, controls, service and facility solutions are increasingly imperative,” he points out.
Adopting energy efficient measures will help solve the problem, reducing the need to build more power plants as well as contributing to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from those plants.
“Energy savings are a great way to cut costs without eliminating services or staff. By incorporating energy efficient measures, owners of facilities can improve their bottom line and investors will benefit from better returns,” he adds.
Trane is the air-conditioning systems and services business of American Standard Companies, with product offerings that include energy-efficient HVAC systems, service and parts support, advanced building controls and financing solutions.
Each Trane system is designed to meet the specific needs of customers who want heating, cooling, dehumidifying and air cleaning systems for residential, commercial, institutional and industrial applications.
