Al Khobar-based Maromix, which claims to be the first solid surface manufacturer in the Middle East, offers a wide range of materials that not only adds elegance to interiors but also ensures the durability of surfaces.
The company has been producing top-of-the-range polymer-bonded mineral-based and cultured-marble products such as kitchen and counter tops, vanities and cladding for 13 years. “Maromix’s line of products is renowned for its quality and elegance. The unique combination of granite and solid colours is one of attributes that have given Maromix an edge over its competitors. Its solid-surfacing material is also highly flexible, allowing it to be shaped, cut and moulded in variety of designs,” says a spokesman for the company.
“The long-lasting Maromix solid surfaces, while having a textured look, are actually smooth. They impermeable and are resistant to thermal shock, impact, stain and discolouring,” he adds.
Among its more recent products is the Onyx finish, which resembles marble. This material is designed for vanities, straight kitchen-tops, vanity bowls, sinks, decorative items, wall claddings, and ceilings.
“The transparency of the Onyx is one of the distinguishing features of this material,” says the spokesman. “Onyx gives interior designers the flexibility to give shape to their ideas and create designs that blend harmoniously with the interior design concept of the building – be it a hotel or a residential unit. Another highlight of the product is the veining, which can be uni- or multi-colour as required by the client. Apart from the standard range of colours, special colours can also be produced upon request.”
The Maromix range of materials also includes Marblemix and Stonemix, which resemble marble and stone, respectively. Marblemix is suitable for kitchen tops with sinks and a back-splash, all cast in one single mould to suit the client’s requirements.
"This material affords protection to wooden kitchens against water leakage and thus guarantees that the entire kitchen cabinetry retains its original shape and performance for years to come,” he says.
Marblemix can also be used for vanity tops/counters. This maintenance-free product is easy to clean and highly hygienic, making it suitable for use in kitchens, restaurants, and bathrooms. The material is offered in a range of colours to choose from.
Stonemix, meanwhile, is a finish that has been created for the budget-conscious. It offers similar features as Marblemix and resembles it.
Maromix has dedicated engineering staff and follows strict quality control procedures in production and installation to ensure the quality of its products. Its research and development (R&D) division is equipped with the most modern equipment for testing products according to international standards, he says.
Maromix’s carpentry division produces wooden kitchen cabinets and vanity cabinets. The design of the base cabinets varies from contemporary to classic. The cabinet doors are produced from diverse types of solid wood such as oak, mahogany and teak depending upon the client’s needs and selection of material, the spokesman concludes.
