Building on the outstanding performance of its Z-Class product line, Enerpac has launched the ZU4T-Series electric torque wrench pumps.
Similar to the pumps of its class, the ZU4T electric torque wrench pumps are designed to be easy to handle and use, deliver higher oil flow and bypass pressure and cooler running and require 18 per cent less power than comparable pumps.
These new pumps are ideal power sources for all hydraulic torque wrenches, come in two maximum operating pressures: 700 and 800 bar; and have a reservoir capacity of 4 to 8 litres, says a Netherlands-based spokesman for the manufacturer.
The pumps come with heavy-duty bearings that extend pump life by reducing friction, reducing surface loading and lowering bearing stresses. Their high-strength, moulded composite shroud protects motor and electronics, while providing an ergonomic, non-conductive handle for easy transport, he adds.
Dependable
“Remote control units with low-voltage pendants provide additional safety for the operator,” says the spokesman. Brush design lasts four times longer than current designs and features an “auto-stop” shunt to prevent commutator damage from normal brush wear. The pumps also have an auto-cycle feature, which provides continuous cycle operation of the torque wrench as long as the advance button is pressed. In addition, they can be used with or without auto cycle feature.
Innovative
The pumps sport an LCD readout that provides pressure display and a number of diagnostic and readout capabilities never-before offered on a portable electric pump. The pump’s powerful 1,25 kW universal electric motor provides high power-to-weight ratio and excellent low-voltage operating characteristics.
ZU4 series
Enerpac has used the latest metallurgical, bearing and seal technologies to produce pumps whose features and benefits far surpass the electric pumps that are available today, the spokesman claims. By reducing the number of moving parts, improving flow dynamics and decreasing friction, Z-Class pumps will stay on the job longer, require less energy to operate and when needed, have lower service costs.
Summarising the advantages, the spokesman says this series offers:
• Two-speed high-efficiency pumps – high oil flow and bypass pressure;
• Self-priming, high-flow first stage pump increases pump performance by super-charging the second stage piston pump – improving oil flow in both hot and cold weather operation;
• Large heavy-duty bearings and balanced rotating components reduce friction, wear and heat build-up and provide a smoother running pump;.
• Replaceable piston check-valves increase service life of major pump components;
• Powerful universal motor and excellent low-voltage operating draws 18 per cent less current than comparable pumps.
• Brush design last four times longer and brushes are easy accessible for rapid replacement;
• Ergonomic high-strength composite shroud protects electric motor and key electrical components.
• Low voltage pendant features sealed switches. Operates at 15 vdc for improved operator safety
Established in 1910, Enerpac is a global market leader in high-pressure hydraulics and a leading manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders, pumps, valves, presses, tools, bolting tools, accessories and system components for the manufacturing and construction industries, for productions, maintenance, operation and repair.
Enerpac first earned its reputation in hydraulics sn the early twenties when it introduced the first hydraulic jacks. Today, the company has dedicated teams of individuals working on each continent - focusing on the industries needs for hydraulic components.
The company’s products have been used for a wide range of applications that include: lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, bending, holding, stressing, cutting, spreading, bolting. Demanding projects worldwide have been accomplished faster and more safely with help from Enerpac’s integrated hydraulic systems and equipment, he adds.
