Sharjah-based Electronic & Engineering Industries Company (EEI), a specialist in the production of polystyrene insulation, has expanded its operation in Abu Dhabi with the recent opening of its second state-of-the-art production facility for Roofmaster XPS extruded polystyrene.
The new facility is expected to boost the company’s production capacity and enable it to meet the growing market demands, an EEI spokesman says.
An ISO-certified company, EEI was established in 1979 and has been catering to its clients’ requirements from its 107,500 sq ft factory in Sharjah, which is equipped with cutting-edge design and manufacturing equipment.
“The increasing demand for extruded polystyrene systems in the region has led us to open up the new production facility in Abu Dhabi,” the spokesman says.
EEI began the manufacture of Roofmaster (injection moulded polystyrene insulation), in the early 80s, using German technology and collaboration.
Roofmaster XPS is the trade name of the blue extruded rigid foam boards made out of top-quality general-purpose polystyrene. EEI Roofmaster XPS has two variations: the UHD (ultra high density) and SHD (special high density). These products have various applications for roofs, floors, walls, protection boards and parking decks.
“Manufactured using advanced computerised extrusion machinery, Roofmaster XPS boards are made with a continuous skin surface and developed into a closed cell structure,”he says.
Outlining the highlights of the product, he explains: "Roofmaster XPS has features like high thermal resistance and superior water resistance properties. It provides a uniform density distribution, dimensional stability, very high compressive strength, ageing resistance and immunity against insects, pests and bacteria. In addition, several other advantages such as: energy saving, low installation coasts, availability in a broad range of densities and sizes, simplicity to cut to shape, and resistance to most acids and alkalis, make the Roofmaster XPS a popular choice.”
“We believe in continuous product development and always try to surpass the expectations of our customers. Our product meet BSI, ASTM and DIN specification and all the product varieties are CFC (chlorofluorocarbon)–free, making them extremely environmentally friendly,”he adds.
The company, which claims the distinction of being the first developer of injection moulded thermal insulation system in the Middle East, has been associated with numerous prestigious projects in the region.
“We have a long list of satisfied clients, as we do not believe in just selling products. We try to find solutions for our clients and that approach has resulted in mutually beneficial partnerships between EEI and its clients,” the spokesman concludes.
