With the introduction of four new models – SV 33, SV 46, SV 66 and SV 92 – Lowara has significantly expanded the application range of the SV series of pumps, which now features capacities of up to 120 cu m/h and heads of up to 300 m.
“We now have pumps from small to large: the range has been made wider,” says a spokesman for the company.
In addition, Lowara has redesigned its SV pump range to meet the dual goal of maximising the performance of the motor and the liquid end. Measures have also been taken to minimise the maintenance requirements of the pumps so as to make it suitable for a wider range of applications, he says.
“In particular, special attention was given to reducing axial thrusts of the liquid end that is typical of pumps with a multistage configuration. This allows standard motors to be mounted without any need for intermediate devices, which could otherwise have had an adverse effect on the overall performance of the pumps.
“Moreover, the improved efficiency of the new pumps allows a significant reduction in energy consumption, which means that the pumps are less expensive to run. The noise levels of the pumps have also been substantially reduced to ensure a silent operation of the pumps and greater customer satisfaction,” he says.
The Lowara SV series features vertical multistage electric pumps made of stainless steel, suited for a large number of applications including water treatment (reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, demineralisation, softening and distillation systems), water supply (filtration and distribution from water systems, pressure boosting in networks or booster packagers), light industry (cleaning and washing systems, fire-fighting systems, boilers, cooling liquids for machine tools, cooling and air-conditioning, pumping of acid and alkaline solutions, oils and alcohols) and irrigation (golf courses and flood irrigation).
“All the materials used in the manufacture of this updated range of SV pumps are suitable for drinking water applications (WRAS certified),” says the spokesman.
The pumps were displayed at Lowara’s stand at the recent 34th Expocomfort Convention Show that was held in Milan, Italy. Also on display were several other Lowara products, including a reverse osmosis water treatment unit, a pressure unit for residential use, a pressure unit in an undergound tank, a retrofit unit with Hydrovar speed change system and other pumping systems controlled by frequency convertors such as the Hydrovar and the Tecknospeed models.
Says the spokesman: “Lowara is committed to studying, developing, manufacturing and distributing pumps and pumping systems for water technology applications. The company has set up a new training centre – the Lowara Training Centre (LTC) –dedicated to training. Last year alone, 600 Italian and foreign visitors have taken advantage of the centre..”
The company is a leader in the European residential and commercial pump market and is part of ITT Industries, believed to be the world’s largest producer of pumps and complementary products for water and industrial fluid applications.
“As a member of ITT Industries, Lowara shares the most advanced research, design and industrial engineering skills with other group companies, which have helped its innovation capabilities.
“Lowara serves the global market directly or through the distribution network of other group companies,” adds the spokesman.
