UAE-headquartered Ahmed Ramadhan Juma (ARJ), one of the leading suppliers of engineering products, has a simple philosophy to improve its business prospects in the region.
Since its inception, ARJ’s focus has not been limited to selling products but providing solutions. The company has been quick to imbibe modern advancements and developments with a view to enhance customer satisfaction.
“Our goal is to try our best to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and loyalty by continuous improvement, regular customer contact, and resolving customer complaints promptly,” says company general manager Shahab Juma.
“We welcome customers who complain as we view them as our well-wishers,” he adds.
It is this philosophy that has allowed the company to reach greater heights over the years.
“Our time-tested qualities have set us apart, making ARJ one of the most preferred suppliers and establish it as a reliable and trustworthy business house,” says Juma.
The ARJ group – accredited with ISO 9001 certification – has become one of Gulf’s largest engineering products suppliers, operating more than 16 outlets across the GCC states and dealing in more than 40 reputed brands.
ARJ’s pump businesses include brands such as Lowara, Vogel, Goulds, Bell & Gosset, Flygt, Marlow and Richter from ITT Industries, one of the world’s largest pump producers.
On acquiring sole rights to distribute Nemitsas diesel-engine-powered turbine pumps, ARJ established itself as a major pump dealer. Realising the shifting trend from diesel to electro-pumps, the company clinched the sole-distributorship for Lowara products in 1982 and in the very first year of operation, was successful in getting a major order from Al Ain Agricultural Department for 1,000 submersible bore-hole pumps against established brands, says Juma.
Since then, there has been no looking back and subsequently ARJ has been successful in bagging numerous government tenders and projects for the supply of 500 to 1,000 Lowara pumps per order over the years.
Lowara – a world leader in stainless steel pump manufacturing technology ranging from turbine, centrifugal and submersible pumps, to related water technology equipment – is the most favoured supplier in the European and GCC residential and commercial pump market, while Vogel is a major supplier of pumps for industrial and oil industry applications.
Lowara was founded in 1968 and based in Montecchio Maggiore, near Vicenza in Italy. The company has been serving customers and users of hydraulic pumps in various sectors for more than 30 years. In 2000, the company had consolidated sales of $150 million.
“ARJ is proud to be associated with its ‘Partner in Progress’ – ITT Lowara which has helped it to set up branches in the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The company is committed to studying, developing, manufacturing and distributing pumps and pumping systems for water technology applications,” says Juma.
Lowara aims to provide efficient and reliable products, services and solutions for water supply and water pumping needs in the residential, irrigation, building services and commercial markets worldwide, in order to maximise value for its customers, co-workers and shareholders.
“The company pays utmost attention to the health and safety of its workers, recognising the importance of safety working programmes requiring safe machinery and suitable personal protection for workers,” he says.
Lowara is committed in protecting the environment and has been actively involved in monitoring, industrial waste and emissions of gas derived from production cycles, into the atmosphere. At its Montecchio factory, a new area for storing dangerous waste has been built, adds Juma.
