Tabreed – the National Central Cooling Company – has signed a contract with the Bin Kharbash Group to provide cooling services to Kharbash Tower, the newest residential development to be unveiled on Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road.
Under the terms of the contract, Tabreed will link the 36-storey residential building to its landmark district cooling scheme on Sheikh Zayed Road, providing chilled water for cooling purposes. Kharbash Tower is expected to be ready for residents to move in by September.
“2004 is shaping up to be an outstanding year for Tabreed – we have already signed a number of high profile contracts, and our partnership with the Bin Kharbash Group on this project only adds to the list of partners,” said Jamal Al Jarwan, business development manager of Tabreed.
“Our team is working closely with Bin Kharbash’s engineers to ensure the smooth installation of our system. This scheme will eradicate the ongoing operational and maintenance costs associated with traditional air conditioning systems and the building’s residents will welcome the absence of the noise and vibration of air conditioners.”
In addition to Kharbash Tower, Tabreed’s cooling scheme on Sheikh Zayed Road now supplies a range of buildings including the Shangri-La Hotel, Rotana Towers, Tower Number One Suites, Noor Al Maarif School and soon, Park Place.
“We chose to partner with Tabreed to bring Kharbash Tower residents a world class cooling service,” said Ahmed bin Kharbash from Bin Kharbash Group. “We are committed to building an enviable living environment for our residents, making Kharbash Tower synonymous across Dubai with high class living in the heart of the city.”
District cooling is widely used throughout the UAE and around the world, piping chilled water from a centralised plant to a range of residential, commercial and government buildings. Landlords are attracted to the maintenance-free, economic and environmentally friendly cooling benefits of the technology, while tenants enjoy reduced ambient noise and better temperature control in their homes, making it the perfect solution to all cooling requirements, ays
Tabreed has offered district-cooling services as a utility in the UAE for over five years, pioneering energy efficient gas-fired and electric-powered district cooling solutions in the region. Tabreed, the largest district cooling service provider in the world, offers customers the highest quality service through an integrated energy system devised to help them optimise their energy usage and reduce power and maintenance costs, a spokesman for the company says.
