The improving economic climate in the region has given rise to mega projects in Saudi Arabia including those spearheaded by the Aqar Group in Madinah, Makkah and Jeddah, says El Maimani Red Brick and Clay Products Factories.
The Madinah-headquartered company has been the main supplier for most of the construction works under way in the central area adjoining the two holy mosques of Makkah and Madinah, says a spokesman for the company.
He continues: “Products from El Maimani – one of the largest brick manufacturing companies in the Kingdom – have been approved by several consulting offices in Saudi Arabia because they offer a better solution for masonry works.”
El Maimani attributes the superiority of its products to a host of technical and economical reasons.
According to the spokesman, the technical reasons that support the use of the red brick include:
The red brick is also favoured for several economical reasons:
“These advantages have created a huge demand for red clay bricks,” says the spokesman.
El Maimani, established in 1980, is currently supplying bricks of 2,000 tonnes per day to meet this huge demand, he adds.
Some of the projects include:
El Maimani was also the main supplier of red bricks for the expansion of the old Madina mosques at Quba, Qiblatain and Miqath.
“We also supplied the red clay bricks for the construction of many mosques in Jeddah such as King Saud, Harithy, Jaffali and Cornice mosques. In addition, we were the main suppliers of brick for the Mina tents projects,” says the spokesman.
El Maimani is considered to be the first brick company in Saudi Arabia to have introduced a cost-effective load-bearing construction system for the construction of two-storeyed villas.
The company has offices in Makkah, Jeddah, Taif, Yanbu, Tabuk, Jouf and Dammam.
