Asia Electro Mechanical Company says it has achieved its primary objective of bringing quality products from international manufacturers to contractors engaged in developing the rapidly-evolving GCC region, by developing a close working relationship with the two parties.
Established in Kuwait in 1977, the company has since set up a presence in Saudi Arabia and the UAE and gained a considerable market share for its products.
The range of products it markets includes Acipco ductile iron pipes and fittings from the US-based American Cast Iron Pipe Company, sealing systems from John Crane UK, cast steel valves from Cookjee Korea, Butt Weld fittings from ASK Japan, grooved end mechanical couplings and fittings from National Fittings of the US, valves from Siam Navaco of Thailand, pipe supports and hangers from Flamco Holland, water meters from Aquametro Switzerland, and BIS Pipe Fittings Company of Thailand, to name a few. Almost all products are ISO certified and all critical items have certificates of traceability.
Among the leading contractors the firm has supplied in the region is the UAE-based Sensaire.
"Sensaire is a leading contractor which has used our products extensively in recent jobs such as the Shangri-La Hotel complex, designed by Norr Group International, for Al Jaber group," says a spokesman for Asia Electro. "The stringent specification (750 gallons per minute at 390 PSI developed by a 250 hp, 1,760 rpm motor) called for products meeting ISO 9001 certification and FM and UL/ULC approvals."
Products from National Fittings, which manufactures ductile iron-based mechanical couplings and fittings, were supplied to Sensaire for this project.
National Fittings has more than 25 years of experience in its field. It offers a wide range of sizes and styles, which is backed by in-house design and development. Through its associate company Interfit Limited, National Fittings manufactures and distributes ductile iron-based grooved mechanical (a pre-lubricated gasket) couplings and fittings which are UL and ULC and FM-approved and conform to ISO 9001: 2000 quality standards, the spokesman says.
National Fittings has gained vast experience over the past 25 years. Its motto is to "step up in value while stepping down in cost", he says.
Its qualified sales team is trained to carefully study and enhance the company's portfolio of products. Asia Electro Mechanical ensures that adequate stock levels are maintained and it can also outsource and meet all urgent requirements for power piping.
Asia Electro has been involved in hotel projects in Dubai such as Dusit Dubai and Grand Hyatt; and commercial and residential developments including Al Shola Complex and 54-storey tower being developed by Union Properties, both in Dubai, the Centre for Strategic Studies for UAE Defence Ministry in Abu Dhabi, and the Sahara Shopping Centre in Sharjah.
Other projects include the Jebel Ali D station, Wild Wadi, the express mail centre, the air wing and new hangars at Dubai Airport as well as Ras Laffan refinery in Qatar.
