Germany-based AMF Mineral-platten is actively promoting its range of performance ceiling tiles in the region which is said to be environment-friendly, safe, attractive and yet practical.

''AMF Classic Performance Ceiling products are manufactured without formaldehyde and do not contain asbestos, and this is guaranteed by official certification, says a company spokesman.

He continues: "AMF's factory is located in Europe's largest forest area, obliging the company to adhere to strict requirements for environmentally-friendly production.

''The mineral wool used to make AMF tile meets the highest European standards and RAL certification is available on request. Other raw materials include clay, perlite and starch - which are non-harmful natural materials that combine to produce a product with excellent fire protection and acoustic properties.

''AMF Classic Performance Ceilings include gypsum tiles - which are made from a material has been used in buildings for thousands of years. The pure white gypsum colour and safe plaster core is an excellent base for ceiling tile production.

"The range includes AMF Rilievo Gypsum tiles, which have a finely textured finish that is both elegant and practical. There is a choice of face patterns: square (12 by 12 mm), round (6 mm) perforations as well as a micro-perforated (3 by 3 mm) tile.

''The Rilievo finish improves the acoustic performance and the visual effect in comparison with ordinary plain gypsum tiles. It is also easier to handle.''

In Bahrain, AMF ceiling tiles have been used on a large number of projects including the Dairy Queen facility in Sulmaniya, Fuddruckers in Adliya, Burger King on Exhibitions Avenue, Bahrain Mall, Ponderosa restaurant on King Faisal Highway, McDonalds restaurant at Zinj, and the recently opened HSBC Bank in Mahooz.
