Detailing the company's scope of work, Smith stated that Airmech was responsible for all electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning and plumbing works on the development. The company also undertook special lighting and fit-out works for the subsequent tenants.

The systems specified for the project were HVAC (heating, ventilation and airconditioning) with 300 tonnes of cooling; building management system (BMS); plumbing and drainage; fire-fighting; fire alarm; lighting and small power; safety and security; and a standby generator.

Various safety and security systems included fire detection and alarms with fire protection sprinklers throughout the building; emergency/exit lighting fed from the central emergency battery system; escape route air pressurisation and smoke exhaust system; CCTV (closed circuit television) and card access security system.

In case of a fire, all lifts will automatically travel to the ground floor and the doors will open. The stair pressurisation system will prevent smoke from entering the escape staircase while a smoke extract system will remove fumes from the affected floor and the floors above and below.

Airmech employ 40 engineers and in excess of 600 tradesmen in the UAE, together with more than 500 skilled and semi-skilled mechanical and electrical personnel in Bahrain.

Specialising in industrial projects where a higher level of engineering is required, Airmech has carried out extensive works in Dubal and Jebel Ali Free Zone.
