Pegler ... range boosted.

Pegler, a leading UK-based valves manufacturer, has launched a range of spring action valves to complement its selection of engineer's valves. The line consists of spring action check valves (1063) and foot valves (1064).

The valves are compact in design and can operate in horizontal, vertical or oblique orientations, making them very versatile and suitable for a variety of installations, says a spokesman for the company.

The valves are available in sizes 3/8" to 4" with ISO7 (BS21) taper threads, ISO228 (BS2779) parallel threads and ANSI (NPT) American taper threads.

''Dependent on size, the valves have a maximum operating pressure of 12 bar, 10 bar and 8 bar. The maximum operating temperature is 90 deg C. A body arrow indicates the direction of flow required to open the valve,'' he explains. ''The valves are manufactured from forged brass with ABS pins and pin washers and EPDM sealing washers.

''Both the 1063 check valve and the 1064 foot valve have closing mechanisms that are controlled by a stainless steel spring. The filter on the 1064 is also made from stainless steel. The filters on the foot valves are detachable , allowing for replacement of the filter in case of damage or allows conversion to a check valve, if required.

''The 1063 spring check valve is suitable for use in industrial, pneumatic, and hydraulic as well as some domestic applications.

''The 1064 has been designed for use with pumps and its filter gives protection against system debris that might foul a pump's mechanism. The foot valve is typically used in drawing water from wells, draining ditches and in the removal of floodwater. The check valve mechanism prevents back flow and holds the fluid on the inlet side of the pump, which assists the pump priming process.''

''These spring action valves are manufactured to the highest standards and have Pegler's renowned in-built 'watertight' guarantee of quality inherent in all its products,'' the spokesman adds.
