Bright parking with Flowcrete.

A NEW deck coating system which protects car-parks while making them aesthetically appealing through a choice of colours has been launched by Flowcrete of the UK.

''Car colours have moved on since Henry Ford talked of customers having any Model T Ford as long as it was black, but car-parks have failed to move along with the times and offer an environment as colourful and pleasing as that of their charges. But the tables are about to be turned with the launch of a new system from Flowcrete, which enables creation of car-parks in all the colours of a rainbow,'' says Mark Greaves, managing director of Flowcrete Car Park Structures

Following a period of extensive research and development, Flowcrete Car Park Structures has extended the colour palette of its awardwinning Deckshield system.

While being aesthetically-appealing, Deckshield also adheres to the most demanding of standards, has a highly accredited fire rating and is built to last, Greaves points out.

He continues: ''Backed by the promise of a fast installation time and a comprehensive warranty, Deckshield provides a convenient and effective method of breathing new life into ageing concrete structures and also giving maximum protection to newlybuilt developments.

''Compliant with BS and DIN standards, Deckshield is an environmentally-friendly product and its antiskid surface also reduces tyre noise and provides a bright and nonslip environment for drivers and other pedestrians.

''Flowcrete's Deckshield system has been installed at many prestigious developments worldwide, including car-parks at Hyde Park for the City of Westminster, the Lowry, Manchester, Malaysia's International Airport in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong's mass transit system.''

The new launch is the latest innovative offering from Flowcrete. Earlier this year, Flowcrete Group chairman, Dawn Gibbons MBE, was a finalist in the national Women Inventor of the Year contest, sponsored by the Patent Office.

Greaves says: 'We have identified a gap in the market for colourful, bright parking bays, which offer a touch of the unusual.

'The new colours provide a warm and inviting environment for all types of car-parks at a time when more and more emphasis is being placed on the need to provide safe, aesthetically-pleasing and inviting areas for people to leave their vehicles.''
