AL MEERA Consumer Goods Company, a leading retail chain in Qatar, has signed a blanket agreement with two leading construction groups Al Aliaa Trading and Contracting Company (ATC) and Al Muftah Trading and Contracting Company to build seven new malls in the country.
Al Meera CEO Guy Sauvage, ATC’s managing director Ayman Khaled Mahmoud and Al Muftah managing director Ibrahim A Al Muftah signed the agreement.
Under the agreement, Al Muftah will build three new stores for Al Meera at Rawdat Ekdeem (on a land area of 10,506 sq m), Al Azizia (3,250 sq m) and Zakhira (8,375 sq m), while ATC will be responsible for the construction of the projects at Al Wajba (9,082 sq m), Muaither (4,912 sq m), Al Wakra (10,673 sq m) and Al Thumama (7,403 sq m).
“We are pleased to sign this agreement with Al Muftah and Al Aliaa companies, the two leading companies in their field, to support our expansion plan. The progress of Al Meera will benefit all in Qatar, shareholders and consumers,” said Sauvage.
Qatar, he said, was and will remain the major market for the retail company.
“The goal of our expansion is to have an Al Meera outlet close to our customers everywhere in Qatar before the end of next year. Al Meera will continue to rehabilitate its old branches and upgrade them to the new innovative concept. This new modern and contemporary concept is designed by international companies,” he added.
