RAK Ceramics has expanded its best-selling Wood Art Collection, a series of novel and contemporary wood finished tiles that stands out for its stylish appearance.
As a founding member of Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC) and in line with its efforts to promote green building solutions, the Ras Al Khaimah-based ceramics and sanitary ware manufacturer had introduced the Wood Art Collection in 2012. Since then, the collection has been witnessing growth in demand and has proven to be a game changer, says Abdulla Mahmood, general manager-marketing.
“The collection gives customers the look and feel of real wood while not depleting our natural resources. Used to create wood-like floor or wall tiles, this alternative to actual wooden interiors means trees are protected and consumers are encouraged to become a growing part of the eco-friendly movement,” he says.
The new additions to the collection include:
• Vintage, which is inspired from gracefully aged wood, with warm tones to decorate interiors. These Gres Porcellanato floor tiles are available in sizes of 14.5 cm by 120 cm, and 19.5 cm by 120 cm;
• Sequoia tiles, which have contemporary designs, influenced by a natural wood finish that best suits floors in outdoor areas and walls in living rooms. It is available in 19.5 cm by 120 cm, and 14.5 cm by 120 cm sizes in three colours;

• Arizona, the novel design of which is influenced by the look and feel of tidy and solid wood providing a classy appearance within any setting. It is manufactured in 14.5 cm by 120 cm, and 19.5 cm by 120 cm sizes and available in four distinct colours;
• Hemlock, which is a contemporary adaptation of dark soiled wood adorned with a carbon speckle effect. It is produced in 14.5 cm by 120 cm, and 19.5 cm by 120 cm formats in three different colour shades; and
• Aspen, which takes inspiration from aging wood that forms naturally striped patterns. It is available in 14.5 cm by 120 cm, and 19.5 cm by 120 cm formats in three distinct shades.
Commenting on the success of the Wood Art Collection across the globe, Mahmood says: “The eco-friendly range of tiles has been highly successful in all markets. As a market leader, which is also a responsible global ceramics manufacturer, it is important that we consistently launch eco-friendly tiles like the Wood Art Collection which plays a constructive role in conserving natural environment and ensuring long-term sustainability. We continue to add new designs to cater to the evolving consumer tastes and demands.”

“The Wood Art Collection does not present the pitfalls normally found with using wood as it is termite-proof, fire-proof, water- and stain-resistant, abrasion- and impact-resistant, resistant to household chemicals and above all, environment-friendly.
“Made using the latest in digital printing technology that control the colour variation and image pixels to produce sophisticated wooden graphics on the tile surfaces to give a pristine finish, each gem in the collection is better than its ‘real’ counterpart, and engineered to last even longer with minimal maintenance,” he adds.
Available in an array of shades and sizes, the Wood Art Collection puts the right to choose in the hands of the consumers. “In comparison to real wood, the superior strength of RAK Ceramics’ tiles leaves no room for competition as it is sustainable on two fronts – minimising the use of real wood and providing a product that will stand the test of time.
“Innovative product ranges such as the Wood Art Collection clearly exemplifies RAK Ceramics commitment to launching pioneering new products and its ability to raise the bar within the industry,” concludes Mahmood.
