Paint show heads for record

AS MANY AS 330 companies have already confirmed their participation at PaintExpo 2014, seven months ahead of the show, with 10,400 sq m of net floor space already booked, exceeding the 2012 record.

The fifth international trade fair for industrial coating technology will be held from April 8 to 11 next year at the Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Nearly all international market and technology leaders in the fields of liquid painting, powder coating and coil coating are participating in the event that has seen, as of August, exhibitors from 19 countries having booked floor space with 22 per cent hailing from outside Germany.

India property show success

THE India Home Property Exhibition 2013 concluded recently on a successful note at JW Marriott Marquis in Dubai, UAE.

The three-day exhibition, which ran from August 29 to 31, was organised by Media Agency Middle East (MAME). It showcased a broad variety of residential real estate opportunities, right from apartments to villas to housing districts, available all over India.

Well-known developers such as Hiranandani, DLF, The 3C, Sobha and Puri Constructions took part.

Spotlight on construction trends

THE 2013 International Construction Economic Forum (ICEF) will be held from November 20 to 22 at the Hotel Okura in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The conference, networking event and awards dinner will focus on core themes of trends and forecasts in the global construction industry, project finance, successful project management and delivery, equipment technology and asset management.

Former Spanish prime minister José María Aznar will give the keynote address at ICEF, exploring the power and purpose of globalisation. Other speakers include several chief executive officers of major companies in the global construction industry.

Green Building Week celebrated

EMIRATES Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC), an independent forum aimed at conserving the environment by strengthening and promoting green building practices, celebrated a nation-wide ‘Green Building Week’ last month (September 15 to 19), marking the huge strides made by the UAE in green building and sustainability.

Green Building Week was marked by a variety of community outreach initiatives to further underline the importance of developing sustainable built environments and integrating energy-efficiency and eco-friendly practices into the daily lifestyle.

The celebration coincided with World Green Building Week.
