The 700 Series ... includes the T770 compact tracked loader and the S770 skid-steer loader (below).

BOBCAT has launched a series of new-generation loaders over the last 12 months, strengthening its leadership in the region’s compact loader market.

The latest is the launch of the new 700 Series compact loaders which adds three new models to the new-generation range, all with vertical lift path design and offering several new features and enhancements that significantly extend the range of applications for compact loaders.

The 700 Series comprises the S770, a new skid-steer loader model, the T770, a new compact tracked loader, and the A770, a new all-wheel-steer (AWS) unit.  The loaders are part of a new large-frame platform that fits between the extended medium (600 Series) and extended large frame loaders (800 Series) introduced last year.

Powered by the 68.6 kW Kubota V3800-DI-T-E3 diesel engine with a rated speed of 2,400 rpm, the S770, T770 and A770 replace the S300/S330, T300/T320 and A300 models, respectively.

“All three new loaders offer higher rated operating capacities and increased engine and hydraulic power, allowing users to take on new, more demanding applications,” says a spokesman for Bobcat.

The S770 loader has an operating weight of 4,162 kg, a rated operating capacity of 1,569 kg and a tipping load of 3,137 kg.  The rated operating capacity and tipping load for the T770 are 1,611 kg and 4,602 kg, respectively, while its operating weight is 4,683 kg.  The A770 has an operating weight of 4,291 kg, a rated operating capacity of 1,550 kg and a tipping load of 3,100 kg.

As well as higher performance and power, the new 700 Series loaders offer improved visibility, comfort and uptime protection.

All three models have a height of 2,065 mm, a length with bucket of 3,597 mm and a bucket hinge pin height of 3,353 mm.  The S770 and A770 have a width without bucket of 1,832 mm compared to a width over the tracks for the T770 of 1,981 mm.

Innovative features
The S770, T770 and A770 share several innovative features that characterise all of the new-generation loaders from Bobcat. Prominent among them is the design of the spacious new premium cab, which has:

Extended medium range ... the S630 with bucket and pallet fork (below) attachments.

A new forward position that offers a 30 per cent increase in all-round visibility for the operator;
Forward visibility further enhanced by the 45 per cent larger glass pane of the door;
Visibility through top, side and rear windows all significantly enhanced;
50 per cent increase in the output from the front working lights;
Ample adjustment in seat and suspension to suit individual preference;
Adjustable SJC joysticks integrated on the seat arms;
Best-in-industry pressurised cab, improving HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) performance by 35 per cent;
Improved hydraulic smoothness, thanks to new cushions in the lift cylinders;
Radio-ready, 12 V power outlet option for charging mobile phone/MP3 player/iPod;
Cup holder and additional storage compartments; and
New full-colour deluxe instrumentation panel option.

“Like all new-generation loaders, the 700 Series models offer faster cycle times, higher productivity, and improved attachment performance,” the spokesman says.

“Traction on the loaders has been increased by 15 to 20 per cent to provide greater pushing and digging power.  Also, the standard flow hydraulic efficiency has been increased by over 30 per cent, providing better attachment performance. Hydraulic flow has been increased by 11 per cent or 9 l/min.

“The pressure of the pumps has been increased by almost 14 bar, while back pressure of the hydraulic system has been reduced by 7 bar,” he continues. “Higher hydraulic performance results in faster cycle times with an 18 per cent faster dump/rollback cycle. Optional high flow hydraulic power (151 l/min) has been optimised by ensuring that peak flow occurs close to the rated engine load, providing better fuel efficiency and engine cooling. In addition, a larger double fuel tank allows for longer work intervals between refuelling.”

In the cooling package, cooling capabilities are increased thanks to a larger cooling fan and a more efficient design of the fan shroud, which is made entirely of aluminium to ensure the best heat rejection and improved corrosion resistance. The screen has thinner fins, similar to lawn mowers.

In terms of maintenance, the 700 Series loaders offer excellent serviceability with an easily accessible box-style air filter, a transversely mounted engine and swing-open tailgate. A swing-up oil cooler allows fast and easy cleaning of the oil cooler and radiator. Hydraulic oil filtration down to 10 microns significantly reduces the possibility of contamination.

“The arrival of the new 700 Series follows on from the successful Middle East launches of both the 600 Series and 800 Series compact loaders from Bobcat,” the spokesman continues. “The 600 Series comprises three models, the S630 and S650 skid-steer loaders and the T650 compact tracked loader.  The 800 Series contains the new S850 skid-steer loader and T870 compact tracked loader, the most powerful loaders offering the highest lift height ever manufactured by the company.”
