SAUDI-BASED Rollc Company for Automatic Doors and Security Systems has implemented a large number of projects with major local contractors, including Saudi Oger in particular, says Maher Rustom, Rollc’s executive manager.

Some of the projects carried out with Saudi Oger include the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (Kaust), Princess Nora Bint Abdulrahman University (PNU), King Abdullah Financial District, and King Abdulaziz International Airport and King Khaled International Airport, he reveals.

For the Kaust project in Thuwal, located 80 km north of Jeddah, Rollc installed overhead coiling doors at the academic chemical warehouse and more than 180 rolling shutters at buildings No 16 and 19. These include a two-hour fire-rated shutter, roll-up shutter doors and coiling counter doors, Rustom says.

In Riyadh at the Princess Nora bint Abdulrahman University, the company installed a hydraulic dock leveller, a truck restraint with all accessories, two-hour fire-rated rolling shutters, and acoustic rolling shutters for PN04, PN03 and PN10 facilities, he continues.

In addition, car-park shades were installed at the PN02 PNUW Health Sciences building. These included six large umbrella-shaped units measuring 14,500 mm by 14,500 mm; 400 car-park shades measuring 2,800 by 4,270 mm at PN05 PNUW housing facilities; and 400 roll-up shutter doors for villas within the development, he says.

At the King Abdullah Financial District (Package A), also in Riyadh, Rollc has installed stainless steel rolling shutters, road blockers and automatic arm barriers.

Rollc has also seen itself secure major orders from the aviation sector, says Rustom. At the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, it has installed sliding gates, each comprising 12 panels, measuring 75,000 mm by 15,000 mm for two big hangars; and one small hangar sliding door of eight panels of size 45,000 mm by 10,000 mm; as well as fire-rated shutters.

In addition, it has provided sliding gates with 12 panels for three big hangars at King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh, 75,000 mm by 15,000 mm in size; and two sliding doors for small hangars consisting of eight panels, measuring 45,000 mm by 10,000 mm in addition to fire-rated shutters, he says.

Other projects carried out by the company have entailed installation of sliding gate motorisation at the MTBA residence in Rawda; industrial shutters at Al Samriah Farm; overhead rolling shutter doors, sliding gates operators, gate canopies and car-park shades for 900 cars, insulated rolling shutters for the Ministry of Finance administration complex at Nakheel in Riyadh; overhead sectional doors for NBA at Exit 5; overhead coiling roller shutter doors and an overhead insulated rolling shutter for a community package at Al Khafji; and roll-up shutters, grille shutters and gate barriers for all parking areas and entrances at the Pension Fund buildings in Riyadh.

The 100-per-cent Saudi-owned Rollc specialises in the production of automatic industrial rolling doors for industry, security, fire-rated (certified by Underwriters Laboratories for two and three hours) and aircraft hangar applications, in addition to hydraulic road blockers, membrane structures and parking shades (made from PVC).

The company has executed many projects in the country for numerous clients, which include universities, government organisations, Saudi Aramco and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), among others.

Rollc represents major international companies such as Elaktromaten and Efaflex of Germany; Rise, Cab and Sea of Italy; Tormax of Switzerland and Garaga of Canada, in the kingdom.

The company employs qualified staff with extensive experience in the doors and tents industry. Its engineers and technicians have been trained at major specialised European companies, says Rustom.
