CONCRETE machinery specialist Schwing-Stetter impressed visitors at this year’s bauma exhibition in Germany with new innovations across its range of equipment.
The innovations were the S 20 truck-mounted concrete pump, the S 43 SX long-boom pump, the Schwing stationary SP 2880 concrete pump, the SPB 32 placing boom, the tractor-trailer AM 10 FHAC – Light Line, the intelligent Smart-Control truck mixer control system, a new ergonomic single-lever control, the M 2.5 two new mobile mixing units, and two new horizontal concrete mixing units.
The S 20 is a high-performance, extremely maneuverable and flexible machine. With a four-section placing boom and extremely small outrigger spread of only 3.85 m, the S 20 is said to be ideal for operations in narrow streets or flowing traffic.
The high performance S 43 SX includes a five-section placing boom with Roll-Z folding, which when combined with space-saving curved outriggers and its lightweight design makes it the new leader in its class, according to a company spokesman.
The new SP 2880 pump, meanwhile has been specially designed for large construction sites. The pump is in line with Schwing-Stetter’s ‘gogreen’ initiative since significant weight savings lead to substantially lower fuel consumption during transport, the spokesman says, adding that the SP 2880’s green credentials are further boosted by a new noise abatement system.
And Schwing’s SPB 32 flexible four-section placing boom is said to work wonders in tight spaces thanks to its roll and fold capability.
Meanwhile, Stetter’s tractor-trailer AM 10 FHAC – Light Line offers an additional load of up to 10 cu m of concrete (at 2,400 kg per cu m) in the combination of a two-axle truck-tractor and two-axle semi-trailer (total weight 38 tonnes).
The new intelligent Smart-Control truck mixer control system, meanwhile, offers even more operating convenience selecting the most economical operating point by means of drum speed specification for the filling and emptying process, including the characteristic map of the diesel engine. During operations, the diesel engine’s speed is recorded and taken into account as an influencing parameter for rapid control and maintenance of a constant drum speed. This results in fuel savings, a significant reduction in wear due to 50 per cent fewer revolutions during road travel and lower noise emissions, the spokesman says.
Smart-Control also features a new ergonomic single-lever control which intuitively sets the mixing drum speed via a continuously variable adjustment process.
Stetter’s new flagship M 2.5 mobile mixing unit has a production capacity of 114 cu m of compacted fresh concrete per hour, its M 2.25’s capacity has been increased from 101 to 108 cu m per hour while the lower range of the line has been extended to include the M 1.25 with a capacity of 70 cu m per hour.
Finally, Stetter has extended its line of horizontal concrete mixing units – the HN 1.5 to H 6 – to include the HN 2.5 and HN 3.5 models. The HN 2.5 has a capacity of 111 cu m and the HN 3.5 132 cu m of compacted fresh concrete per hour. Also, the output of its other horizontal units has also been increased and the line is now available in capacities ranging from 80 cu m to 184 cu m per hour.
