

ARABIAN Construction Company (ACC) has been awarded a contract worth Dh870 million ($236 million) to build the Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
The contract was awarded by the Atlas Group in a joint venture with Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC).Designed by award-winning Austrian architect Dennis Lems, The Regent Emirates Pearl is scheduled to open in 2012 and is located opposite the Emirates Palace on the Abu Dhabi corniche and adjacent to Etihad Towers, another project that is being constructed by ACC.
The development sits on a 10,000-sq-m plot comprising four podium levels plus 45 floors, 377 rooms and suites, 60 furnished apartments and will stand 240 m high with a total built-up-area of 130,000 sq m.
An ACC spokesman said that the Regent Emirates Pearl is an important project for ACC to be involved in as the development is set to become a landmark of the Abu Dhabi skyline.
ACC has been operating in Abu Dhabi since 1968 and is associated with many of the capital’s landmark buildings including Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Capital Plaza, Emirates Palace Hotel, Sorouh’s Gate District and Al Dar’s Central Market Redevelopment.
