PREMCO (Precast Manufacturing Company) has won a SR100 million ($26.7 million) contract to supply 62,000 cu m of precast concrete for the Princess Noura University project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
A subsidiary of Construction Products Holding Company (CPC), Premco is expected to implement the deal in 24 months.
For the project, Premco will be supplying precast concrete elements for the parapet and walkways, and precast slabs and spine and stiffener diaphragms for the automated transport system for students within the campus.
“We are pleased to be among the companies that are carrying out work on this pioneering educational institution in the kingdom, which will be built using the best construction materials and the latest technologies available,” says Dr Faysal Alaquil, CPC director of business development and administrative affairs.
Premco manufactures a wide variety of precast concrete products that are used for the construction of buildings, towers, residential and commercial complexes. Notable projects include the Al Faisaliah Tower and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (Kaust), in addition to a number of mosques and complexes in Jeddah.
A vertically integrated company, CPC is dynamic and reputable group with a wealth of experience in construction products, serving major clients from its head office in Jeddah and branches in Riyadh, Damascus (Syria), Abu Dhabi (UAE) and Cairo (Egypt).
As a subsidiary of CPC, Premco’s competitive edge lies in its access to a range of resources available under one roof, says Alaquil, adding that Premco has the capability to handle projects both within and outside Saudi Arabia.
Established in 1991, Premco is well known for the exceptional quality of its precast concrete products including hollowcore slabs, double-tee slabs, wall frames, cladding panels and boundary walls.
The company also offers glassfibre reinforced cement products and lightweight Acotec wall panels, which are easily installed, fireproof and moisture resistant. Premco’s pre-fabricated bathroom pods are gaining popularity in the market, being both an economical and time-saving solution widely used in hotels, hospitals, office buildings and apartment blocks.
“Premco has achieved high visibility and recognition in the market and has remained competitive due to a clearly defined sales and marketing strategy which has helped expand its customer base,” says a spokesman for the company. “The company has enhanced its sales by maintaining current and detailed customer files, focusing on building mutually beneficial relationships, conducting extensive market research, developing a database of customer inquiries and analysing market data.”
The company will continue to focus on superior product quality and a strong commitment to customer service for further growth, he adds.
