BELIMO, a Swiss manufacturer and distributor of electric actuators for motorised control devices in heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, has launched a hi-tech training facility and knowledge centre in Dubai. The move is aimed at increasing safety awareness in the region.
“Our focus will be two aspects – on energy saving in line with the government’s green issues and resolutions and on fire safety in line with the civil defence regulations throughout the Middle East,” says David Stevenson, general manager, Belimo Automation FZE in Dubai.
“We have invested in the new training facility as we felt there was a need for it to train both new and existing clients. Over the coming months, we will be providing several training programmes to consultants and contractors by using real-life scenarios,” he says.
Reiterating Stevenson’s statements, Colin Shepherd, a senior executive from Belimo Automation in Switzerland, says: “We are a total solutions provider and it is important to train our customers. With the new facility, we will be able to demonstrate to our customers what we have to offer and also help them choose a solution that best suits them.”
The training facility was inaugurated by Major Ibrahim Abdulrahman bin Saif from Dubai Civil Defence.
Belimo established its Middle East subsidiary in April 2007 and has supplied to several prestigious projects including the Dubai Metro, Burj Dubai and Al Barari villa development in Dubai.
Its Middle East office and warehouse, located in Dubai Airport Free Zone, stocks a full range of air and water products. These products are supported by a dedicated sales team offering comprehensive technical and after-sales service. Seminar presentations on VAV (variable air volume), fire and smoke control, energy saving and many other subjects associated with its product range are available at its facility.
