BOBCAT has extended its market-leading loader line-up with the launch of new models, which range from a new version of its smallest model to the highest power-to-weight-ratio compact tracked loader in its class.
The models come with new features and improvements, offering significantly enhanced performance and durability, in addition to maintaining operator safety and high capacity cooling. They include the top-of-the-range S330; the T320 compact tracked loader with the highest power-to-weight ratio; the 2.3-tonne Bobcat T110 compact tracked loader; and the S70 skid-steer loader, the smallest model in the Bobcat loader range.
S330 skid-steer
The highest performing skid-steer loader now offered by Bobcat is the 4.2-tonne S330. It is powered by a 62.5 kW (84 hp) Kubota V3800-DI-T-E3 four-cylinder Stage IIIA liquid-cooled diesel engine and offers a rated operating capacity of more than 1.5 tonnes or 1,542 kg (ISO 14397-1). High breakout forces and two-speed travel, with a maximum speed of 19.1 km/h, enable the S330 to be highly productive in every application.
Elaborating on Bobcat’s top-of-the-range model, a company spokesman says: “The S330 meets a market need for a larger skid-steer loader with more lift capacity and increased horsepower, and builds upon the existing Bobcat skid-steer loader line running from the smallest S70 model through to the S300 skid-steer loader.
“With a 3,305-mm lift height and a reach of 792 mm, the vertical-lift-path S330 skid-steer loader will appeal to many customers in the construction, demolition, landscaping, agriculture, horticulture, equipment rental, recycling and general industries. The 14 by 17.5 12-ply Bobcat heavy-duty tyres on the S330 ensure top performance in all types of conditions.
“The increased displacement and horsepower of the engine on the S330 results in increased pushing power and drive torque for digging applications. There is a wide choice of over 40 attachments for use on the S330, the operation of which is enhanced by fingertip auxiliary hydraulic control, maximum/variable flow and forward/reverse detent, all of which are standard on the S330.”
In common with the other Bobcat large-frame skid-steer loaders (S220, S250 and S300 models), the S330 incorporates an extra-high-capacity cooling system which features a variable speed SmartFAN, providing increased cooling in extreme operating conditions.
With an industry-leading cab design, the S330 provides unmatched operator comfort and visibility, says the spokesman. Operators can easily enter and exit the cab, which features ample leg, foot, arm and head room.
The S330 also features automatic engine shutdown triggered by monitoring devices on the hydraulic system to enhance loader uptime and protect the customer’s investment.
T320 compact tracked
Driven by a powerful 67.6-kW Kubota V3800-DI-T turbo-charged, liquid-cooled diesel engine, the new T320 compact tracked loader has the highest power-to-weight ratio in its class, claims the spokesman. It is designed to meet a market demand for increased productivity (more engine power, more pushing force and more hydraulic power to give decreased cycle times) and an enhanced capability to run a wider range of attachments.
The 4,401-kg T320 model is a vertical lift path loader offering a rated operating capacity of 1,461 kg, making it the largest compact tracked loader manufactured by Bobcat.
Its engine offers 18 per cent more power than that of the T300, the next smaller model in the Bobcat range. As well as extra traction and flotation for work even in very wet ground conditions, the 450-mm-wide rubber tracks on the T320 produce just 0.029 kPa (4.2 psi) of ground pressure, resulting in low ground disturbance, an important feature when working on turf and other sensitive surfaces.
The T320 is equipped standard with a hydraulic system that produces 80.2 litres/min of hydraulic flow, but customers can choose a 140.1 litres/min high-flow option for powering a wide range of high flow attachments such as the wheel saw, road planers, Brushcat rotary cutter, mowers, flail cutters, stump grinders and woodchippers. All current Bobcat control options are available for the T320, including the AHC (Advanced Hand Control), ACS (Advanced Control System) and SJC (Selectable Joystick Control) systems.
T110 compact tracked
Turning to the T110, the spokesman says: “At just 1.2 m wide and less than 2.3 m long without attachment, the 2.3-tonne T110 compact tracked loader will transform prospects for contractors, landscapers and a host of other users thanks to its ability to be transported on a light trailer towed by mid-sized vehicles. Its compactness and transportability are matched by superb operator comfort and high performance in all types of weather and ground conditions. Not only can the T110 work the whole year round, the durability and serviceability of the machine ensure the same high performance year after year in arduous environments.”
Driven by a four-cylinder, 31.2 kW Kubota V2403 naturally-aspirated diesel engine running at 2,200 rpm, the T110 offers a rated operating capacity of 505 kg (ISO 14397-1) and a tipping load of 1,443 kg. At 101 dB(A), the bystander noise level is significantly lower than the 103 dB(A) required by the EU directive 2000/14/EC. Cushioned engine mounts ensure minimised vibrations.
Equipped with 250-mm-wide rubber tracks, the T110 has a ground pressure of only 0.32 kg/sq cm (31.7 kPa). A hydraulic flow of 52.2 l/min on the T110 enables fast bucket rollback/dump and other workgroup functions, and also ensures the T110 is an excellent tool carrier for the more than 20 different attachments designed for use with this machine, he adds.
S70 skid-steer
Meanwhile, the S70 skid-steer loader is the smallest model in the Bobcat loader range, replacing the 463 model. With a width of 901 mm, a height of 1,814 mm, an overall length with standard bucket of 2,553 mm and an operating weight of only 1,291 kg, the S70 scores in terms of compactness, transportability and manoeuvrability. The rated operating capacity of the S70 is 343 kg (ISO 14397-1).
Its small dimensions enable the loader to work in tight areas and access sites with narrow openings such as gates, alleys or aisles. It provides a versatile and compact solution for rental fleets, demolition, construction, landscaping, farming and general material-handling applications. The S70 is driven by a 16.8 kW Kubota D1005-E3B-BC-3 diesel engine, a Tier IV system that runs cleaner with 50 per cent lower particulate emissions.
“The power output from the engine together with the 1,291-kg operating weight results in a higher power-to-weight ratio compared to other machines on the market. The S70 also offers higher productivity through a 10 per cent improvement in cycle times owing to faster bucket roll back and bucket dump functions,” the spokesman explains.
The loader also has a new hydrostatic pump controls centering system, which uses a tension spring instead of a torsion spring and reduces maintenance and increases uptime.
