Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Company (XCMG), China’s foremost manufacturer of construction machinery, has boosted its Saudi operations on the back of booming business.
Following the successful launch of XCMG Saudi in Riyadh under the name of Al Howar Establishment, the company has now opened a new office in Dammam to serve the Eastern Province, says XCMG regional manager He Jin.
XCMG manufactures mobile cranes, wheel loaders, graders, road rollers, tower cranes, hoists, truck-mounted cranes and concrete truck mixers, and its manufacturing expertise and competitive pricing has helped the company emerge as a leading supplier to the region, says Jin.
“The rapid growth in construction in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia, has created a huge demand of construction machinery in the region,” Jin says.
He continues: “In order to fulfil this demand, XCMG, China’s the largest construction machinery manufacturer, established its Saudi chapter under the name of Al Howar. In a short span of time, this young and dynamic company has proven that XCMG’s machinery is strong, reliable and very competitive in the market.”
Jin says that XCMG has sold more than 2,200 cranes across the Gulf, including 700 cranes in Saudi Arabia alone. “This shows the confidence and trust of our valued customers in XCMG’s products.”
Spare parts and service manager Liang says that XCMG Saudi’s focus is to provide quality products and service, which will in turn enhance a client’s business.
“After-sales service is the key point for us, and we have the biggest stock of XCMG machinery spare parts in the Gulf,” he explains. “Our after-sales service team of qualified engineers are always on hand to serve our customers.”
Jin says the office in Dammam will help XCMG further focus on the Saudi market and boost its business, which is “growing despite stiff competition”.
The office will serve the Eastern Province and in other cities as well, he says.
Since its establishment 20 years ago, XCMG has grown to become China’s number one manufacturer of construction machinery as well as the 15th biggest manufacturer in the world, with 20 factories and more than 20,000 employees. The company has successfully collaborated with well-known international companies such as Caterpillar, Meritor of the US, and Liebherr of Germany, all of whom have transferred technology to XCMG, says Jin.
“Our main products are all-terrain truck cranes, truck cranes, crawler cranes, tower cranes, truck-mounted cranes, compactors, loaders and motor graders, most of which are market leaders both domestically and internationally,” says Jin, who has been instrumental in boosting XCMG’s sales, and promoting the brand to the major institutions in Saudi Arabia.
“We now have two service centres in Riyadh, located in the Al Solay industrial area, as well as branches in the Eastern and Western provinces, all equipped with a range of machinery, ample spare parts, workshops and training facilities. We have a team of qualified and experienced Chinese engineers who can rise to any challenge,” says Jin.
“Our goal is to satisfy our customers with the best of products and first-class service. We identified a niche and this encouraged us to embark on a mission to provide the regional market with quality construction equipment,” he adds.
XCMG Saudi has professional trainers on hand for follow-up visits to ensure that operators are using and maintaining their machinery properly, while technical staff will visit clients free of charge every 1,000 hours over the warranty period.
“To sum up, our quality machinery, competitive prices, mobile workshops and strong after-sales support make XCMG an unbeatable proposition,” he concludes.
