New launches

Amorim’s range t The Big 5.

AMORIM Cork Composites is coming back to The Big 5 with some new and exciting products.

The Portugal-based company intends to showcase new partition walls, new expansion joints, new underscreeds, and new underlays.

Amorim manufactures acoustic, anti-vibration, thermal insulation, and vibration control products made of cork/cork and rubber.

It also makes underlays/underscreeds, batten supports, waterproof membranes, masonry supports, granulated cork for mortars, partition walls, faced repairs and expansion joints.

Hailing The Big 5 as the right place to meet people and potential new customers from Middle East, the company’s sales manager, Rogério Mesquita, says: “We have exhibited before and received a very good response.”

Amorim Cork Composites was established in 1963. Its head office is in Mozelos, Portugal, and production facilities are in Mozelos and Corroios (Portugal) and Trevor (US). It employs 450 people and has an annual turnover of $124 million.

The company exports 99 per cent of its production so any variation in its domestic market has no effect on it, says Mesquita, who adds that business this year has been slight lower than last year.

He says Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE and Iran are the markets to look out for.

Amorim Cork Composites can be visited at Stand 2F71, Hall 2, at The Big 5.
