Blocks production ... Masa has the product.

FOLLOWING its successful participation at previous Big 5 shows in Dubai, Masa of Germany will return this year with its portfolio of enhanced products and services.

“We have been participating at The Big 5 show for a number of years and have always had excellent feedback during the event,” says Cristian Brugioli, managing director of Masa Middle East. “Many contracts have been finalised during the exhibition over the years and, more importantly, we have also established many new contacts.”

“For Masa, it is very important to stay in contact with our esteemed clients, so it is always a great pleasure to meet our existing customers personally again during an exhibition, to serve them better. Furthermore, it is very important to persuade interested parties to select a Masa machine if they are looking for a machine/plant for the production of concrete blocks, slabs, aerated concrete or sand lime bricks.”

Commenting on growth prospects in the region, Brugioli says: “The market in the Gulf is growing, and we expect steady growth in the years to come. With the expanding markets in most of the Middle Eastern countries, Masa is looking forward to a very positive growth in business. We are expecting an increase in demand for our machines and plants from the building material industries. Masa partners with its clients right from design through manufacturing, assembly, commissioning and training/support during the start of a production.”

Despite the global crisis of recent years, Masa has continued to grow and improve its products, according to Brugioli.

The company has erected more than 230 plants in the Gulf. “Masa is among the market leaders in the Middle East. At the moment, we are installing four new plants in Saudi Arabia and one in the UAE. This also proves the efficiency of our technical department in this part of the world.”

Commenting on the company’s future plans, Brugioli says: “Masa has just opened an office in Bangalore, India, and is planning to open another in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, soon.

“For the next few years, we expect that the Saudi market will be lucrative for us in terms of sales and services and Masa expects similar prospects also from the UAE and all the other Middle East markets.”

Established in Germany in 1905, Masa is a leading choice for plants and machinery in the building materials industry. Today, its installations can be found all over the world. Its regional office for the Middle East is located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, UAE.

“Our customers know that with Masa they will have the technology that will provide them with an edge in their competitive environment,” Brugioli says. “Masa has all the necessary experience required for the production of high-quality blocks, light or heavy weight concrete, slabs as well as sand lime bricks and aerated autoclaved concrete (AAC) blocks in high capacities of 1,440 cu m of AAC blocks per day, 172,000 pieces of sand lime bricks per day, and 3,000 sq m of pavers per eight-hour shift.”

Under the Masa banner, the company has production facilities in Germany supported by its sales companies all over the world. Its head office, with departments for development and production, is situated in Andernach, between Frankfurt and Cologne while a second production facility as well as large departments for the research and development is situated in Porta Westfalica. The company also has a centre for engineering for sand lime brick plants in Dorsten.

Furthermore, subsidiaries for sales and services are established worldwide including in US, China, Russia, India and Italy. The company has a staff strength of more than 400 employees and an annual turnover is over €100 million ($132 million).
