MOHAMMED Hassan Al Mahroos Company, which returns to The Big 5 for the third time, will be showcasing its construction and access machines that represent an evolution in all ranges of equipment in these segments.

At The Big 5/PMV 2013 in Dubai, the GCC company, headquartered in Bahrain, will be promoting access equipment from Genie, US; compact excavators from Yanmar, Japan; compaction machinery from Mikasa, Japan; and concrete mixers and construction hoists from Imer.

The company participated in the event’s 2007 and 2008 editions when the market was booming. “At that time, we showcased Yanmar compact excavators and introduced the 10-tonne Yanmar SV100 in 2008. The exhibition was great and visitors were very excited with the evolution of excavators,” says Talal Hassan Al Mahroos, GCC marketing manager.

Among the highlights of its showcase at this year’s event will be Yanmar’s newly designed compact excavator with the latest technologies that enable it to tackle the harsh climatic conditions experienced in the GCC. It is equipped with new attachments to save time, labour and money such as brick pavers for pedestrian streets and parking from Hunkliger, Germany. Miller from the UK offers different types and sizes of buckets depending on the customers’ job needs. Different sizes and types of hydraulic breakers from Furukawa, Japan, will also be displayed.

The line-up from Mikasa, a leading manufacturer in the small and medium construction equipment, includes a new road roller of a hydraulic type to improve its compacting efficiency. Also, making their debut at the show will be a new reversible compactor and a tamping rammer, which were introduced in bauma 2013, the largest construction equipment show, which was held in Germany earlier this year.

At The Big 5, Mohammed Hassan Al Mahroos Company will also be announcing the launch of its Dubai and Saudi Arabia facilities. “We will be having all the facilities to satisfy the needs of our customers including machines, spare parts and workshops backed by account managers. These facilities will be replicated in the other GCC countries in the upcoming year,” says Al Mahroos, pointing out that the company has offices in Dubai, UAE, Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, employing more than 300 people in the GCC.

He says that with these facilities, the key areas in the GCC will be covered and client requirements fulfilled, adding that customers today are even more discerning in terms of using quality products that entail low running cost and less maintenance as a long-term investment. At the event, Al Mahroos will be introducing its facilities in the Jebel Ali Free Zone that will serve as a re-export centre especially to the GCC, the wider Middle East and Africa regions.

Alongside these new facilities, the company intends to introduce a new online spare parts outlet, for all its customers. “The website will be introduced and announced at The Big 5 and will be an added value to customers to be more transparent in prices, and ensure more accurate parts selection and faster delivery. Further information about the online shop will be announced soon,” says Al Mahroos.

Al Mahroos believes it is important for his company to invest and be present in The Big 5 show alongside international leading brands as the company strengthens its presence in the GCC.

Mohammed Hassan Al Mahroos Company has been in operation since 1930, serving as a retail and wholesale company that provides spare parts and maintenance for the products it supplies and markets around the GCC. These products vary from one country to another, but mainly serve construction, industrial, commercial and domestic customers.

“Quality products and proper services are our main target to maintain the same positioning in all the GCC,” says Al Mahroos.

In terms of business, he says the company is seeing increasing volumes of sales as the number and value of projects increase in the GCC.

“From our experience, all GCC countries have their own separate vision of development that makes the entire region our main market. However, some countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar are investing much more than the others in developing infrastructure, buildings and industries, which means we have to be actively present in these markets in the upcoming years,” says Al Mahroos.

Furthermore, he says his company has already attracted the attention of many leading international manufacturers through its proactive approach and has seen potential opportunities in acquiring further agencies to new and related departments in different countries. “This motivates us to expand our showrooms, warehouses, spare parts and workshops to best serve our customers,” he adds.

Among the developments that Mohammed Hassan Al Mahroos Company is working on are the Four Seasons hotel in Bahrain, the Al Marina project in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, Hamad International Airport in Qatar as well as other projects in the UAE and Oman through its rental customers.

The company will be exhibiting at Stand OS-70 at The Big 5 in the PMV area.
