Saudi Ministry of Tourism has announced the signing of an agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Tasheed Contracting Company for the development of 12 new hotels across the kingdom.
 
These hotel properties, which are expected to provide 2,500 rooms in total, will be built at a total investment of SR1.3 billion ($346 million), reported SPA, citing a top official.
 
"Our ministry has been contributing immensely to support the tourism sector in the kingdom, thus enriching the experience of tourists and visitors," said Mahmoud Abdulhadi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism for the Empowerment of Tourist Destinations.
 
The target cities for the hotels include Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, Jeddah, Taif, Abha, Tabuk, Jazan, AlUla, Al-Bahah, Yanbu, Hail, Al-Ahsa and Najran, he added.
