The Dubai office of Jotun Paints, a leading producer and supplier of paints, coatings and powder coatings, has recently secured a Dh25 million ($6.8 million) contract to supply high-quality paints and coatings for Nakheel’s Discovery Gardens project in Dubai.
The contract includes the supply of interior and exterior paints for the entire block of buildings that comprise the project, within a stipulated timescale of next April. Jotun Paints started the supply of its Fenomastic Gold brand to paint the project’s interiors and the Jotathane brand for exteriors.
“This is an important win for us, one that reinforces our leadership position in the local market,” says Arve Hermansen, general manager for decorative sales, Jotun Paints. “Discovery Gardens is a one-of-its-kind residential project that is massive in its scale, and Jotun Paints is uniquely positioned to undertake and successfully execute such mega projects within a short timeframe.”
In keeping with its reputation as the most eco-friendly paint company in the world, Jotun Paints will ensure that the Discovery Gardens project is executed in accordance with strict environmental standards. “The fact that the company is a founding member of the Emirates Green Building Council established in July, is an indication of the company’s long-standing commitment to improving the environment through eco-friendly production methods and products.
Discovery Gardens is a pre-designed complex comprising themed communities styled in a variety of garden experiences. The culturally themed communities are Mediterranean, Zen, Contemporary, Cactus, Mogul and Mesoamerican courtyard gardens. A 420,000 sq m development, Discovery Gardens features multi-sized spacious apartments set amidst landscaped lawns, lush foliage and beautiful desert blooms.
