Turnkey interiors specialist Designers Inn Decor of the UAE is on the expansion path as it bids to reach out to other markets in the Gulf.

The Dubai-based company plans to move shortly to a bigger facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone from its 5,000 sq ft office and manufacturing facility presently located in Al Jaddaf.

"The new facility will be double in size and we will also hire more staff and install new machinery," says managing director Jaspal Singh. "The facility will have a bigger area for mass production of furniture, which would be exported to other Gulf countries. Our main focus is to provide high quality. We are also looking at other markets in the region and are in the process of establishing a presence in Bahrain and Qatar."

Designers Inn Decor focuses on three areas of specialisation: showrooms, offices and restaurants. "We have the capability of offering turnkey solutions for shops, restaurants, banks and exhibition stands," Singh elaborates.

Established in 1999 by an experienced turnkey projects management team, Designers Inn Decor has, within this short span, grown from strength to strength and undertaken a number of prestigious projects, according to Singh.

"We started off with two persons and today employ 50 people," he says. "We are now into the mass production of furniture, kitchen doors and cabinets and our manufacturing facility is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery. All the raw materials are procured locally, but if the need dictates, they are imported from Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand."

Due to rapid growth, the company set up its own joinery division to increase its efficiency in executing contracts as well as to create a more competitive pricing structure.

"The workshop is fully equipped with all necessary equipment and tools as well as a special adornment workshop with a spray booth to fulfil all the joinery requirements of a number of projects of various sizes," says Singh.

"This division has been operational for more than two years and is managed by a team of qualified professionals and supported by skilled carpenters and semi-skilled workers of different disciplines. We also have in-house electricians and masons. The joinery division has a wide client base as it provides services not only to ongoing sites but a number of leading interior design companies and consultants."

Singh says that the company has reached a stage where it is virtually expanding every day. "We have been through difficult times which we were able to combat and did not run away from the market. All this was possible with the help of our clients who have supported us through the bad phase," he says.

"The credit for our success goes to all our people. It is a joint effort from all our staff comprising six designers and architects, four project managers, 35 skilled and 15 unskilled labourers." Together the project management and joinery have the distinction of providing excellent workmanship and timely execution of prestigious projects to the satisfaction of the clients and consultants.".
