Powerscreen, in collaboration with local dealer Genavco, will be launching the new Powerscreen Chieftain 1700 and the Chieftain 2100X in the UAE later this year.
These products, which have already been launched internationally, have received a very good response in the world market, according to Genavco.
According to one international user, “the Powerscreen Chieftain 1700 leaves the competition standing in the dust.”
The Chieftain 1700 functions efficiently as the complete mobile plant, being the only equipment needed to process the sand and gravel material from the user’s sandpit before being directly transported for sale.
This mid-sized, track mobile unit is available with two or three decks to complement the Chieftain 1400 and the new Chieftain 2100X products.
Key features of the Chieftain 1700 are:
• New two-bearing screenboxes, two deck and three deck;
• New fold-out screen walkways;
• A new power unit featuring a transverse engine arrangement to aid access and serviceability;
• A new patent-pending, fully-mounted hydraulic folding oversize auxiliary conveyor for oversize material stockpiling (three-deck model), (no crane required during set-up);
• Extended conveyors resulting in increased stockpiling capacity; and
• Output potential of up to 500 tonnes per hour, depending on application.
Meanwhile, the new Chieftain 2100X is an upgraded version of the Chieftain 2100, available as a two or three-deck versions. It has longer conveyors and an increased screen area of 14 per cent on the bottom deck pushing the screening capability much higher than the Chieftain 2100.
X400
Among other developments, Dubai-based construction equipment supplier Genavco has sold its first unit of the Terex Pegson X400, which was launched on the regional market recently.
According to a spokesman for Genavco, Terex Pegson’s recently-launched primary tracked jaw range crusher is capable of outstanding productivity and is available in both hydraulic adjust XA400 and hydraulic release XR400 versions.
“Ideal for the increasing quarrying and recycling applications of the Gulf region, the XA400 has a highly aggressive crushing action with a hydraulic crusher setting adjustment. The high-swing jaw eases material entry into the crushing chamber and the hydraulic adjustment has been developed to enable crusher-setting changes to be made quickly and easily over a wide range.
“The adjustment is activated without the need to release the draw-back mechanism. This system is particularly suitable for applications where regular jaw setting adjustments are required,” the spokesman explains.
The XR400 with hydraulic release has been specifically designed to alleviate problems associated with crusher overload, which can be encountered when tramp metal enters the crushing process – particularly prevalent in the recycling of construction and demolition waste. “The hydraulic release feature is fully adjustable, quick and easy to reset and makes blockage clearance a simple process. This saves time and money by allowing the crusher to continue processing with minimal disruption to the task while, at the same time, protecting the jaw mechanism from potential damage,” he says.
Among the innovative features on the X400 series that improve productivity and enhance maintenance procedures are:
• The feed hopper, which is constructed from 15-mm heavy-duty Hardox for a prolonged active life and is hydraulically folding with boltless fixing;
• A newly-designed and improved crusher drive access system;
• An easy-access power pack canopy;
• Hydraulic and oil filter changes only required at 2,000 hours intervals; and
• Excellent under-crusher accessibility for the safe and easy removal of wire with a hydraulic titling conveyor system.
“The strong I-beam construction of the chassis is designed and built to withstand even the most arduous of conditions and the low ground pressure crawler track is site proven for the toughest of terrains,” he says.
Other improvements include a new style of vibrating grizzly feeder, with an extended twin cartridge grizzly section, which actively discourages pegging and blinding; an improved impact area under the product conveyor, at the crushing discharge point. The hydraulically elevating and lowering product conveyor itself has an increased discharged height (3.9 m) for even better stockpiling and, for transport, this can quickly be lowered to reduce the overall height dimension of the plant.
Both the Powerscreen Chieftain and Terex Pegson X400 ranges provide excellent opportunities for any quarry or recycling sites in the Gulf region, the spokesman concludes.
Powerscreen, part of the worldwide Terex group of companies, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of dry screening, washing and recycling equipment for the quarry, mining, landfill and waste management industries for processing aggregates, coal, rubble, skip and municipal waste, compost and sand.
Terex Corporation, a diversified global manufacturer with 2006 net sales of approximately $7.6 billion, operates in five business segments: aerial work platforms, construction, cranes, materials processing and mining and roadbuilding, utility and other products.
