Saudi Binladin Group (SBG) has been awarded a contract to revamp the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
The SR1.123 billion ($300 million) deal is the first Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project in Saudi Arabia's civil aviation history. SBG was advised by Trowers & Hamlins, international law firm, on the contract. Under the contract the group will rebuild the airport’s Hajj Terminal Complex – custom-built exclusively for religious pilgrims (See page 191).
