Mammut Building Systems Abu Dhabi has got what it takes to be a leader in its field and today its client list reads like a who's who of Abu Dhabi companies.
With a dedicated team of specialists supporting its pre-engineering buildings (PEB) and precast concrete activities, the company is winning over more clients as it grows from strength to strength.
Its latest success, clinched last month, comes from Al Ghurair Iron and Steel which has just selected Mammut Abu Dhabi to design, supply and erect its new Dh300 million ($81.74 million) galvanising plant in Musaffah.
It was almost two years ago that the Mammut Group set up Mammut Building Systems Abu Dhabi as its sole agent and representative in Abu Dhabi, says Sarmad Al Khudairi, general manager of the Abu Dhabi operation.
Currently, it represents Mammut Building Systems (which offers PEB systems) and the recently-commissioned Mammut Technocrete (which manufactures precast concrete) in Abu Dhabi. An experienced 120-member Mammut team based in the capital ensures prompt service whenever needed, he adds.
The team – headed by a general manager and another for PEB erection – includes estimators, designers, project managers, sales engineers and draftsmen, who are supported by a dedicated and highly-specialised erection team ready to offer prompt service to their clients.
In the last two years, Mammut Abu Dhabi has consolidated its position of strength and dominates almost 50 per cent of all PEB sales in the capital city and Al Ain.
The complete fabrication and erection package offered by Mammut Abu Dhabi has continued to grow in popularity with clients.
This has been enhanced by the opening of Mammut Technocrete’s new precast concrete facility in the Jebel Ali Techno Park. Believed to be the largest fully automated plant in the world, the facility enables Mammut Abu Dhabi to offer an integrated solution to clients covering the entire gamut from structure, mezzanine floors and boundary walls to an alternative to blockwork external walls and internal partitions in warehouses.
“A number of projects for prestigious clients have been delivered on time, every time,” Al Khudairi adds. These include multiple oil and gas strategic projects, the 150,000-sq m Adpico project in Mussafah, a new 13,000-sq m storage facility for Al Rashid Building Materials of Saudi Arabia which intends to commence operations in Abu Dhabi, and the Al Jazira Pipes and Oil Services’ new 38,000-sq m manufacturing facility at the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi Phase II (ICAD2).
Its client list is a testimony to Mammut’s vast experience in specialised services and includes leading clients such as Silver Cost Construction and Boring, Amana Abu Dhabi, Alba TEC, White Aluminum, Samsung, ETA-Ascon, Damac, Seidco, Six Construct, Trust Construction, Al Geemi Contractors, Al Ghafly Contractors, Al Jaber Energy, Al Mansouri 3B; Al Masaood Bergum, Ali & Sons Contracting, Al Tharawat Contracting, ACC, ASCS, Commodore, Euro Asia, Gulf Contractors, The Contractors, Okaz and Stars Contractors.
“This year we are planning to introduce new products and services in Abu Dhabi such as Thermo-Shield (specialised painting solutions) and represent a new member of the Mammut Group, Realty One for real estate development,” says Al Khudairi.
Al Khudairi continues: “Last year, Mammut Building Systems had planned to increase its total production capacity to 7,500 tonnes per month. But due to the rapid growth in its market share and further expansion in the Gulf, coupled with increasing exports to Africa and Asia, plans have been put in place to expand the capacity still further.
The installation of new equipment and increases in covered space for manufacturing means the company is all set to raise capacity up to 10,000 tonnes per month within a year.
The logo of Mammut Building Systems and Mammut Abu Dhabi is a representation of a wooly mammoth, the pre-historic ancestor of the elephant. It’s an appropriate symbol for a company that, while growing from strength to strength quickly, continues to keep its feet firmly on the ground, he concludes.
