Big 5 Construct Saudi is currently under way (August 30 to September 2) at the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Centre, where key players in the building sector have gathered to gain insights into what is the latest in the foundational stages of construction.
This second edition of the annual event shifts the spotlight from interior fit-outs and architectural design – which was in focus in the January expo – directly to the early stages of construction, including heavy construction, concrete, HVACR and related sectors, under the theme ‘From foundation to future, built for every scale’.
With multi-billion-dollar project pipelines transitioning into early-stage execution across infrastructure, residential, commercial, and industrial developments, contractors, engineers, and procurement teams are under pressure to make rapid, reliable supply decisions. This ongoing gathering responds directly to these demands, bringing together over 1,000 exhibitors from more than 50 countries with local and international companies showcasing solutions relevant to ongoing and upcoming projects across Saudi Arabia. The event hosts four specialised shows, including HVACR Saudi Arabia, FM & Clean Saudi Arabia, Heavy Saudi Arabia and Totally Concrete Saudi Arabia.

The decision to split Big 5 Construct Saudi into two standalone annual editions reflects a maturing construction market where project demands have become increasingly specialised. Rather than bringing all construction disciplines together in a single mass event, the distinct calendar slots reflect the practical realities of project delivery on the ground.
In an exclusive interview with Gulf Construction, Firas Abou Ltaif, Portfolio Director at organiser dmg events, explains the strategic market demands that drove the transition to separate early-stage foundational phases from finishing stages, and how the event directly aligns with landmark national developments like Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup 2034 (see separate article).
“The January edition focused on architecture, design, fit-out, and finishing – sectors that become increasingly important as projects move towards completion,” notes Abou Ltaif. “The current edition shifts the conversation to the earlier phases of construction, where procurement decisions around heavy equipment, concrete, HVACR, MEP, and facilities management have the greatest impact on cost, quality, and delivery.”
This structured split creates a targeted commercial environment. Project developers, main contractors, and procurement officers can evaluate early-stage structural systems on the exhibition floor without distraction, while manufacturers benefit from technical, outcome-focused discussions.

A central focus of the show floor is the strong presence of Saudi Arabian manufacturers, highlighting the kingdom’s rapid industrial expansion under Vision 2030. Local suppliers are actively scaling up operations in structural steel, building materials, fire protection, and HVAC systems. Domestic heavyweights, including CPC Holding, Al Yamamah Steel Industries, Hussein & AlHassan G Shaker Bros, MedGulf, and Zamil Steel are showcasing capabilities designed to meet major project specifications directly within the kingdom.
From the UAE, Al Muqarram presents construction chemicals, while International Code Council (ICC) and Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International will demonstrate internationally recognised expertise in building codes, safety standards and HVAC performance.
Companies such as Al Bawardi, Madar, Naffco and Esad Services represent key segments across general construction, fire protection, materials distribution and facilities management. The exhibitor line-up includes Alyamitech, a pumping solutions provider; Alima, a vertical access solutions suppliery; Gulf Insulation Group, a specialist in thermal, acoustic and fire-resistant insulation solutions; and International Tube, a leading manufacturer of electrical steel conduits and fittings;
Complementing the local presence is an array of international participation, featuring dedicated country pavilions from China, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Italy, and Türkiye. Global manufacturers, such as Lanmix (Australia), Coldrock Europe, Masa, and MBK Maschinenbau (Germany), and K-Flex Insulation (Egypt) are presenting technologies designed to bring predictability, efficiency, and sustainability to heavy-build sites, while Confindustria Veneto, together with Gibus and Oscam, are unveiling Italian manufacturing across specialist construction products and outdoor living solutions.
Advanced concrete production tools, thermal insulation, modern construction chemicals, and artificial intelligence integration are central to international offerings. AI applications, in particular, are moving from conceptual ideas to everyday jobsite solutions, aiding contractors in predictive site planning, equipment monitoring, and resource management across complex sites.
In steel and structural systems, in addition to Zamil Steel and Al Yamama Steel, Baz Steel, Kirby and AAS Steel are demonstrating local and regional expertise supporting complex builds. Across heavy construction and concrete, Steelco contributes to strengthening domestic supply chains and project readiness.

European manufacturers such as Caleffi, Tazzetti and Luve from Italy, Topwerk from Germany and Dimas from Greece, among others, are presenting technologies that support HVACR systems, thermal performance and concrete production.
Brands including Hisense, Haier, Honeywell, Toshiba and Grundfos further showcase the depth of technical solutions available to the Saudi Arabian market.
Complementing the wider exhibitor line-up, the Big 5 Impact Trail spotlights practical sustainability solutions across the exhibition, helping project teams identify products and systems that can improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact and support long-term building performance.
