Interface takes MEP products to new level

Interface FZC says it is currently establishing long-term distributors channels in the Middle East and Africa for the metallic cable management systems and electrical products which it represents.

Interface recently started supplying, for the first time, internationally-manufactured brands to the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) sectors in the Gulf. With a large warehousing and logistics facility in the Ajman Free Zone, Interface represents competitively-priced products with impressive global track records, according to the company.

The company markets WM cable management system manufactured by Wai Ming of Hong Kong, a specialist manufacturer of cable management systems. These systems are used extensively in Asia and Europe. The products are designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of the prevailing European directives, product standards and safety regulations. In addition it represents the following UK-based companies in Middle East and Africa: Flytech Systems, Loblite Electric, Schulte Loughborough Electro Systems and Channel Electrical Equipment.

WM

The WM metallic cable management systems include metallic conduit cable protection, cable tray, cable ladder, cable trunking, cable support and cable floor distribution systems manufactured by Wai Ming

• Metallic conduit systems: WM offers Class 4 heavy gauge rigid and flexible conduits and a range of fittings and accessories to BS4568, BS31 and relevant BSEN50086 and IEC1035 standards. There are also medium-duty rigid and flexible conduits and black enamel conduits with a comprehensive range of accessories and fittings.

• Metallic cable tray system: The company offers heavy, medium and light-duty cable trays manufactured to BSEN10143, BSEN1461, BS1449 Part 1 and BS729. Cable trays come in a standard length of 2.44 m while return flanges are 20 mm, 25 mm or 50 mm. Widths vary from 100 mm to 1,150 mm and thicknesses from 1.2 mm to 2 mm. The standard finish is hot-dip galvanized, while other finishes available are pre-galvanised, epoxy or in stainless steel. Fittings such as risers, bends, crossovers, reducers and equal tees are available for each configuration.

• Metallic cable ladder systems: Interface says it provides a full range of WM heavy, medium and light-duty cable ladders manufactured to BSEN10143, BSEN1461:1999, BS1449 Part 1 and BS729. The standard cable ladder length is 2.44 m, with the rung thickness being 2 mm or 15 mm, flange height either 50 mm, 100 mm or 125 mm and width ranging from 100 mm to 1,200 mm. Standard finish is hot dip galvanized, with other finishes also available including pre-galvanised and stainless steel. Fittings such as risers, flat bends, crossovers, reducers and equal tees are available for each configuration.

• Channel support systems: These are manufactured to BSEN10147, BSEN ISO1461 and BS729. Standard lengths are 3 and 6 m, measuring 41 by 21 by 2.5 mm, 41 by 41 by 2.5 mm or 82 by 41 by 2.5 mm, available in plain or slotted versions with long or short springs and other accessories. The standard finish is hot dip galvanised.

• Floor distribution: The range includes raised floor trunking, recessed floor and flush floor systems. The complete runner (trunking, length, body and lid) is produced from pre-galvanised heavy-duty steel sheets to BSEN10142. Standard floor trunking systems are available in one, two and three compartments with a standard length of 2 m. Thickness varies from 0.8 to 2.5 mm.

• Trunking systems: A full range of heavy, medium and light duty cable trunking is manufactured to BSEN101452, BSEN10143, BS4678 Part 1 1971 Class 2 and BS729. The standard length of the cable ladders is 2.44 m and the standard thickness is 0.8 mm or 2 mm, up to 400 by 50 mm wide. The standard finish is hot-dip galvanised though other finishes available are epoxy-powder coated, anti-corrosion and slat spray resistance by thermoplastic powder coating to ASTM and BS standards. Fittings such as connectors, flat bends, crossovers, reducers and tees are available for each configuration.

Flytech Systems

'Advances in the installation techniques for modern cable trunking systems means that manufacturers, contractors and distributors must be flexible in their search for standardization,' says a spokesman for the company which manufactures a range of cable trunking systems.

Independent trunking manufacturer Flytech Systems says it is able to bring many years of experience to specific problems and thus offer a total solution to project requirements. The company offers all types of floor cable management systems, perimeter trunking and bench trunking. The UK-made quality products meet BS, BSEN and EN standards, and are available with a standard length of 2.44 m, a thickness of 2.5 mm and a comprehensive range of fittings to meet client needs, he says.

Loblite Electric

The company, a leader in weatherproof sockets and switches, manufactures a range of IP54 and IP56-rated electrical terminals which it says meet the highest European standards. Its competitively-priced calm-shelled IP56 protected sockets are made of unbreakable polycarbonate housing with high UV (ultra-violet) resistance, which makes them suitable for use in areas such as outdoor sockets for trimmers, lawn mowers and drills.

IP54-rated switches offer splash-proof resistance, providing enhanced protection from electrical shocks. These switches are recommended for use in hazardous areas exposed to liquids or chemicals or in contamination-free zones in hospitals, kitchens, garages, hotels and production floors.

Schulte Loughborough

The company manufactures EVOline, an innovative, flexible, unobtrusive, decentralised and local modular terminal system for power and data outlet sockets for offices, conference rooms and banquet halls.

Channel Electrical Equipment

The company manufactures Cytolok reusable electrical terminators which are, it says, safer and more reliable than conventional terminators. Cytolok is designed to connect and terminate all types of low and medium voltage power conductors without specialist crimping tools or equipment, offering significant savings in installation time, replacement and labour costs.
