Sigma Dubai has successfully executed orders worth $4 million for the Al Falah Community project in Abu Dhabi, which is scheduled for completion this month.

The project, which was launched in April 2011, is a masterplanned community development occupying a 12.5-million-sq-m area, located on the east of Abu Dhabi International Airport and Abu Dhabi-Dubai Highway.

Al Falah consists of five villages that are home to 4,857 villas and a range of community amenities. The villas comprise 962 three-bedroom villas, each covering 312 sq m; 1,461 four-bedroom villas of 456 sq m; and 2,434 five-bedroom villas of 480 sq m. They are available in three distinct styles – Andulucia, Gulf Heritage and Modern.

Sigma’s products have been used for painting the external facades of 2,083 villas built by El Seif Engineering, as well as internal paints for 1,083 of these villas. This entailed the supply of a whopping 1.3 million litres of texture and 700,000 litres primer and topcoat for the massive development.

The products used included Sigma Acrylic Primer Sealer in colours, Sigmaputz 2 mm, Sigma Fine Texture, Sigma Medium Texture, Sigma Guardian Flex, Sigmacryl Flat, Sigma Masonry Primer, Aquafill Wallfiller Fine, Aquamat, Perfex and Ecolux Flat.

To ensure timely delivery, the paints were supplied directly to site from Sigma’s Dammam factory by trailers and also by pickups from its warehouse in Dubai, thus maintaining 100 per cent delivery schedules as required by the contractor, said the company.

On an average, three to four truckloads were supplied each day at the peak of the project.
