UAE-based Azizi Developments made a number of key appointments on its premium development, Azizi Venice, located in Dubai South. It has signed up British engineering firm Arup for the spatial planning of its state-of-the-art opera house and appointed designers for buildings within the AED30-billion ($8.16 billion) mixed-use project.
In addition, the UK-based design studio Kettle Collective has been appointed to provide concept design for 12 buildings while MZ Architects will be responsible for the concept design of 11 other buildings within the project.
Azizi Venice will comprise more than 30,000 residential units across 100 apartment complexes, and over 400 luxury villas and mansions.
At the heart of Azizi Venice lies its luxurious pedestrian-friendly boulevard, which will be open-air in winter and glass-covered in summer to ensure a temperature-controlled space for year-round activity and visitors. Azizi Boulevard will be lined with three-storey buildings planned to host the world’s top retailers and brands, nightlife, and entertainment options, as well as eateries.
Located at the heart of the boulevard, Azizi Opera will be built to the highest, most contemporary standards in design and architecture.
For the Azizi Venice project, Azizi is taking on the role of master developer, in charge of constructing the buildings, roads, and all infrastructure.
Announcing the contract award, CEO Farhad Azizi said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the renowned UK group Arup, whose expertise in engineering and design perfectly aligns with our commitment to delivering unparalleled luxury.”
A prime tourist attraction and high-end local hotspot, Azizi Venice is planned to welcome over 30,000 visitors on a daily basis. The opulent community will have its very own two Azizi-owned and operated five-star hotels at the entrances of the community, as well as one boutique hotel located on an island in the middle of the lagoon.
