RAKTHERM, a market leader in piping and plumbing solutions and part of a group with over 50 years of experience in the plastic industry, is poised to launch a first-of-its-kind institute in the UAE that will offer power-packed training and development programmes for plumbing industry specialists.

The RAKtherm Academy, which will be officially launched during The Big 5 show in Dubai next month (November 5 to 8), will provide specialised programmes for engineers, planners and plumbers in order to hone their skills and technical expertise.

Some of the courses that the academy will address include piping solutions, material properties, piping network designs and installation techniques, and through these courses, RAKtherm aims to ensure that the right piping system is selected for the specific application.

The academy will provide hands-on experience on new and upcoming projects in the plumbing industry. For the construction industry engineers, RAKtherm Academy will provide onsite technical training, site inspections and presentations.

It will offer exclusive plumbing training programmes for beginners who aim to build a career as an MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) engineer or reinforce their selling and marketing skills to take up a career as a seller installer.

“The academy also helps master energy efficiency techniques as maximising the potential of green energy is the need of the hour and provides a company with a competitive edge in the market,” says a spokesman for RAKtherm, adding that about 82 per cent of energy used for domestic purposes can be controlled by plumbers.

RAKtherm is looking at serving the entire GCC region, before taking its academies further afield.
