SOME half million concrete blocks and around 50,000 to 70,000 sq m/linear m of interlocking paving and curbstones have been supplied by the Fujairah Building Industries (FBI) for the landmark Fujairah City Centre project.
The company has been associated with the project since its early days in March 2011, according to the FBI.
The Fujairah-based company’s product range comprises concrete products (blocks, interlocks and curbstone), rockwool insulation materials, ceramic tiles, crusher products, terrazzo tiles and marble granite products.
“All our products are manufactured to the highest quality standard,” says a spokesman for FBI.
Fujairah Building Industries was set up in 1978. The company was incorporated as a public shareholding company by HH Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, the ruler of Fujairah, with a vision to provide high-quality blocks and interlocks. “The company has been producing concrete products since then and has now diversified further and is considered as one of the renowned manufacturers of the concrete paving products and crushed aggregates in the region,” he says.
In 2006, it expanded with the launch of three sister concerns – Emirates Ceramic Factory (ECF), Fujairah Rockwool Factory (FRF) and Fujairah Marble and Tiles Factory (FMTF).
Commenting on business levels, FBI says that while there was a downturn in the industry over the past year, it expects business to improve over the next two years.
The company, which has around 1,000 employees, also has offices/showrooms in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Apart from the Fujairah City Centre, the company has been associated with Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Fujairah Commercial Complex and many other prestigious projects.
