LEISTER Process Techno-logies of Switzerland has launched a new indoor welding hand-tool for tarpaulin, vinyl flooring and plastic fabrication.
Known as Triac BT, the new tool is an innovative, high-quality indoor handheld device, which is available in three different application sets – tarpaulin, flooring and plastic fabrication.
“Weighing only 1 kg, the Triac BT is the most lightweight device in its class,” says Mark Leo O Irac, welding expert at BMC Gulf, Leister’s exclusive sales and service partner for the GCC region.
With “ready-to-weld” sets, Leister’s Triac BT meets the expectations of industry experts, with regards to an economical and functional machine for professionals, he states.
A soft section on the two-component handle provides an excellent grip, while the new rotary-switch allows easy temperature adjustment during the welding process.

The rotary switch also has a safety function. Irac explains: “After an interruption to the power supply, it lights up, thereby signalling to the user that the heating unit has been switched off. This way, fires can be prevented.”
The precision pipe nozzle, a new feature integrated in this advanced unit, is also practical.
In addition, the Triac BT is supplied with a sturdy carrying case, containing everything the welding expert requires. Besides two rapid-welding nozzles (4 and 5 mm) and a replacement heating element, there is enough space for further accessories.
Furthermore, Leister now supplies its well-established handheld devices – Triac PID and Triac S – with sturdy, lockable carrying cases made from plastic. These cases can also be ordered for the existing units owned by end-users. Triac PID is a tried-and-tested hand-tool for the specialist, featuring stepless temperature regulation and digital display. Suitable for continuous operation, the device provides welding results that are independent of voltage fluctuations and ambient temperature. Triac S is an economical hand-tool that has been deployed worldwide. Described as reliable, compact and robust, the unit features an adaptor tube with heat protection, electronic heating element protection and motor shut-off at minimal carbon level.
