In a bid to expand its presence throughout the Gulf region, pipes, sanitary ware and bathroom accessories specialist Al Sahoo Trading has recently set up an office in Doha, Qatar, says Adel Hourani, general manager of the company.

The company – part of the Al Sahoo Group – already has operational bases in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE.
Al Sahoo Group – which was originally founded in Kuwait in the 50s with the aim of satisfying clients’ needs with the best products and services – has grown to become one of the biggest distributors of internationally-known brands of sanitary ware and bathroom fixtures.
“Al Sahoo’s success in this region is the factor behind our ongoing expansions during the past few years. To meet market demand, we are committed to set up new offices not only to provide top-of-the-line products but also to give quality services to our clients as well,” Hourani adds.
“Al Sahoo is strongly associated with top German manufacturer, Aquatherm, a leader in the manufacture of PPR (polypropylene) pipes and fittings, for the supply of water systems, polypropylene chiller systems – Climatherm and Polypropylene fire sprinkler systems. 
“Aquatherm offers quality products manufactured at its modern factory which is equipped with state-of-the-art machines and backed by a hi-tech laboratory, a technical department and a logistic centre, a training centre as well as a subsidiary metal factory,” says Hourani. “These unique qualities enable Aquatherm to continuously maintain an edge over other PPR pipe manufacturers.”
To fulfil virtually every piping system requirement, Aquatherm manufactures various lines of PPR pipes including Fusiotherm (hygienic PPR pipe for hot and cold water systems), Stabi Composite (Fusiotherm PPR pipe with aluminium layer), Faser Composite (Fusiotherm PPR pipe with fibreglass layer), Faser Composite UV (PPR pipe with a black ultraviolet layer), Climatherm (chiller air-conditioner systems), Fire-Stop (pipe for fire sprinkler systems) and PE-RT (polyethylene raised temperature flexible pipe for hot and cold water systems).
These pipes boast a range of advantages and mechanical properties. Fusiotherm offers five different types of pipe - from cold water pipes to patented fire-composite pipes with outside diameters ranging from 16 mm to 160 mm.  In addition, the system includes more than 350 fittings.

The UAE operation is carried out from head offices in Dubai and clients are offered ready-stock from central warehouses at Al Quoz industrial area,” Hourani says.
Al Sahoo expanded its operations into Saudi Arabia in the 1960s and established its first branch in Riyadh followed by other branches in Dammam, Al Khobar, Jeddah and Buraidah.  In 1990, the group took a further leap forward by opening offices in Dubai to serve the UAE market, with sales outlets in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah and finally in Sharjah in 2003, to better serve the market.
